What do you wash your waterproof jackets and pants in that dose not damage the waterproof membrane EG Gore-Tex and the like. Also have you used NIKWAX and if so the spray on or wash in one and dose it make the outer shell water resistant as they clam .

The last time i washed my gear was to visit your fair country. Otherwise, i figure riding in the rain is the same thing.

    I use sport wash.

I have a smaller bottle, as I didn't know they sold it in a 1L size.

Gore tex washes well in a gentle liquid soap with no surfectants. Avoid powdered soap since its full of surfectants.

I have washed all of my klim goretex gear in baby safe liquid detergent. It has minimal chemicals and works awesome.

After washing i apply a dwp coating like Nixwax TX Direct spray.

I live in the Seattle area, and maybe 50% of all the riding i do is in the rain.

Don't laugh.. I hang my jacket on a special hook on the fence and hit it with the snow cannon.. once it is good and lathered up.. I just leave it and then gently hose it off. Saves taking the armour out.

About once every two years I get all serious and take the armour out and put it in the front load machine with wool wash.

    Seems to work.

Bike on grass, gear on hangers on the hoist next to it.... soak with Dobatex, pressure washer for the lot, grab a coldie, flip the maps for next weekends' route, fixed.
