I little stick like thing you blow into and it makes an annoying noise (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recorder_(musical_instrument)). How you "set" one I am not sure, must be like tuning them.

I didn't know Wayne played one but good on him, he is obviously a multi talented man. They are like the bagpipes, best heard from a distance. And about 12,000 miles is the right distance.

I remember seeing Bon Scott play the recorder and thinking, my word those must be some strong drugs.

Who and why would someone have toiled to originate the bagpipes? Such a wildly awkward and impossible instrument... But.
Having heard a very dear Scots mate play the pipes atop the old castle in Stirling on a full moonlit night at 2am... Granted, we had just returned from Glastonbury and were quite full of 12yo+ single malt.

The pipes on start up sound like shit but once on song are a unique sound that is very evocative.
    Enmasse, nah.

    Solo...

My Scots mate played at another mates wake... Heartbreakingly soulful.

It's long been said that a gentleman is one who can play the bagpipes....and doesn't! Or is that the piano accordian?

A few years ago I was living in Kensington and had attended a Sydney FC game at the SFS. I was walking home across Moore Park when I came across a lone piper practising his bagpiping.

    Twas a wondrous moment.

Sorry but yes they are. You would get a more peaceful sound if you jambed a cat under your arm, bit its tail while squashing its guts with your arm. That would also be less painful even if you didn't have a shirt on.

Having followed Wayne's public story through avid readership of the old AMCN and catching whatever meagre offerings they gave us on TV and reading the biographies and all that, I was quite prepared to be bored by another film. But none of that, it was a great production!
