I live right off US 2 in Grand Rapids MN and could provide a place to stay and drink homebrew if I'm around. Keep me posted if you'll be in my neighborhood. I can recommend some scenic rides up here.

    Hi all,

Just a quick update, we have been busy organising stuff here at home, couple big things need to be done before we depart, firstly our house will be listed for lease tomorrow had all photos done today so that is a bit scary for us, it's our first home and we have put a lot of love into over the last 5 years, so hopefully all goes well.

Also have put my car up for sale... image.jpeg image.jpeg

I will try an put our latest plan up tonight, heading off now to get all my needles done for the trip.

Hi Stef and Josh ! Living in Mexico City and waiting for you to head south after the boredom of US highways :ricky :lol3 you will love Mexico ! Send PM whenever you get closer. Happy to contribute with advice to improve your journey in this beautiful country. Oh yes. Forget about the DR 2 up. 800 GS Adventure maybe or a VStrom. Last year had a couple from Rumania with us with a 650 Vstrom. Slow bike with 2 people and lugage but they reached Argentina eventually.

Hi Stef and Josh. I just wanted to let you know that between the Black Hills and Chicago is a great riding area called the Driftless Area.

We have created a web site that describes this area and also provides free pre-planned trips. Depending on the route you take, you could pass right through this area.

    Our web site is: DriftlessRoadAdventures.com

    Good luck with your adventure!!

No kidding! Too bad you can't sell it over here. In the US, those things (or their US equivalent) are unobtanium, and basically selling for new prices.

Wish I could keep it but it must go.

What is the the US equivalent? I didn't realise they sold it, I know the Holden SS (which my car is based on) was sold as the G8 in the states, my car is a VE HSV Clubsport R8, you wouldn't believe how much these are sold for brand new, they had one more model released after this one which is the VF, that is the last one made as the factories in Australia have now closed.

So no more real wheel drive sedans available to build HSVs, so end of era really and it means they are all starting to hold there value.

The G8 was built during the same generation as your car, but we just didn't get a specced-out version like your Clubsport :thumb Man, I'd give my left arm for one of those. My friends make fun of me for wanting one of those American/Australian hybrids (GTO, GT, Camaro...), but I don't think they understand just how good they are :clap :clap

The closest we have here is, like you say, the G8. We also have the Chevy SS and the Cadillac CTS-V that were available with LS motors and 6-speed transmissions. They are pretty well set up, but not club packages. Like I said, yours is unobtanium here.

Life must move on, however, and a piece of machinery is only that. Sell that sucker and travel the world!

Got a bike for them and registered it in their name. So that's a big hurdle cleared.

2015 Weestrom Adventure. 8000 miles. Looks and runs like brand new. Came just as it looks. The 11411 sign is from my old car lot Paramount Boulevard Los Angeles. Pictures are from my back yard!

You find some great stuff! That bike is set. Having ridden a Weestrom, I would love to tour on one. This should be a great trip for the Aussies!

I like your place, too. Cool you saved the sign from the old place.
