Thanks guys and glad you liked it. We had a wonderful time and it's great you enjoyed it too. Planning for more but not sure where and when. Sitting in Doha {Qatar} in a hotel but without a bike. Only a rental car to get us around.
    Cheers

Thomas, can you give us an update on what is going on in the Swiss at the moment with the COVID-19?

Thanks Peter for answering. Well, I go to work (yes I am working again what I never had planned before the trip) because I cannot work from home. I am an engineer and designing machines and the CAD and ERP- Systems Need quite some computer power, that I don`t have at home and that hardly fit into a laptop. In the office every second workplace is empty. The enginners are spread out within the building. There is a lot of space as the other guys are working from home. I take the train to go to work and it is empty compared to normally. They are reducing the frequency of the trains starting today so we^ll see how I get back and forth then. Everyone is asked to stay at home and leave the house only if it is absolutely necessary.
Tough times - lets hope it is over soon.
    Cheers Thomas

Peter - We should get together for a coffee or beer this summer and talk bikes. Maybe on the Schallenberg:)

Ich freue mich drauf. Schallenberg passt :-)

    Hebs guät,

I've follwed your thread for a long time but never posted. I have a 2005 640 Adv.

You should see if your employer can set up some sort of remote access to your work desktop from your home (Teamviewer, Microsoft RDP etc).

Then you can use the power of your work computer, but from home and avoid travel.

Well the IT-guy is not the smartest (hope he doesn`t read this) in my opinion and he said there is Nothing he can do.
We will see what happens when the first infection reaches the Company. Then they might shut the house down.
    Who knows.

Your IT guy is wrong (providing there's not a regulatory reason preventing it), likely lazy, or he can't get funding for it (this is also a real possibility but he'd say: I've tried we can't afford it).

    Hey SmilinJoe,
sorry for the late reply. Was busy with health issues and not much on ADV lately. Operation went well and I am hanging around the house for the next weeks so time for ADV again.
First of all - we live in Switzerland. The virus is still around and is infecting more people again since the gouverments in Europe loosened up the restriction. It doesn´t really look good at all, but I guess still a bit better than in th US from what I hear. All we all can do is hope for the better.
    Cheers Thomas
