I`m late to the party, but really enjoyed Thomas' ride report. Us folks in the Dakotas USA are just out of the winter and getting ready for the 2021 riding season. Hopefully the bad virus stuff is nearly over, on the decline and life will get back to a new normal. I had look up Big John`s SWMBO; same in my world. Take care everyone!

    Thank you Thomas!
your effort is much appreciated. I got off the covid couch and rode the Kruger Park fence due to your insperation. Get back to South Africa so I can take you for a crazy ride. Due to your mechanical ingenuity, you are hence forth labeled the Swiss Army Knife.....

    Hey calabash

I would love to come back to SA and do a ride with you. Current situation does not allow any such trips. Hopefully soon.
the name you give me is flattering. :D

I love your ride report, I got here from the reports when you where riding the 80G/S. Is there any particular reason you're not riding that one anymore? I love my 80GS and 65GS, I hope to travel again later this year.

I do still ride the GS, just not on all rides. On off pavement rides and when it gets a little more challenging I prefer a lighter bike - I'm not the strongest - and I need a bike where Sandra can ride the same model (less spare parts). But I still love my old BMW and will never sell it (unless I can't ride anymore)

Quite the adventure you had. You and Sandra, and those you journeyed with along the path have giving me loads of inspiration. My mind and heart are ripe with wanderlust.
Thank you for an epic read and all the stunning photography. Truly spectacular!
