Will it be the Blue Pill, or the Red Pill?

Edit: See post #2 for attendee list and Paypal link.

After some discussion here and there in other threads, namely Geezer and the Red Pill, and My Retarded Divorce, I have decided to host a little get together at Shady Acres (my house).

Location: 459 Powell Way, Corvallis MT 59828

I live here alone, so there are no children or spouse issues to be concerned with.

This will be a very informal event. I have 1.25 acres and can accommodate a reasonable number of folks. I have 3 bathrooms in the house so there will be showers available (as long as the water heater can keep up!) If we end up with a group of more than a handful, I'll get a porta potty brought in so folks don't have to be running in and out of the house all night getting rid of their rented beer.

I figure I can smoke a few pork butts and have a pulled pork dinner for Saturday night. Maybe on Friday just do burgers and brats; I have a couple of grills that can sit there and just run. As far as breakfast and lunches, as we go along I'll play that by ear and improvise. I'm saying Thursday through Sunday but figuring Friday will be when people might really be showing up. If there are more folks here on Thursday, we'll get a dinner together.

Long as nothing wads up in between now and then, I'll have my band set up on the back patio and we'll play on Saturday night for a couple hours. I'm not figuring anything for payment but I think I'll put out a tip jar just to pat the guys on the back a little for coming down from Missoula and setting up. None of which will go to me, just the other 3 band members.

    This is us, Moneypenny

As when I assisted with Westfest a few years ago, my place can be a shipping point for tires or whatever that travelers might need. I have a shop for any work that might need to be done.

Will set the band up on the patio here.

We can fit quite a few tents here and for you hammock guys, I have a row of trees to hook up to.

Got a fire pit in the back 40.

Calling the dates June 23 Thursday through the 26th Sunday. Nothing carved in stone, if you're traveling a long way and get here before then, set up your tent and call it good.

There are many good day rides to take from here. I'll have some mapped out for attendees to check out. I'm kind of in the country, bordering my place is some acreage on 2 sides and acre plus lots on the other sides. Hamilton is about a 5 minute ride from the house, for all that you might need from liquor stores to restaurants, and there are Yamaha and KTM dealerships in town.

As for a fee, I am figuring something pretty modest, maybe 30 bucks or so. I'll finalize this later and set up Paypal link. For your money, I'll have the two dinners, probably some inbetween meal supplies, coolers with water, pop and beer, access to bathrooms and shop, and my sparklin' smile.

I'll work on this thread of course as we go along. Soon as I post it I'll realize I forgot a bunch of things, so keep an eye on it if you're interested. Any suggestions are welcome.

    Thanks,
    SR

Put me down for one. I have multiple projects due about that time. I'm only 10% likely to show but, it will be an honor to contribute to this fine gathering. Now to try to get those projects off my back.

    Hey...WTF...I'm in!

I'd be happy to bring my gear and play some tunes if it works out. The road goes on forever and the party never ends.

This is one gathering I would saw off a leg to attend ... but unfortunately my schedule and geographical distance from Montana cannot accommodate ... am hoping to be able to fly west to Calgary at some point next summer though ... to visit my daughter.

Our town is actually named after Corvallis, OR. And our little local lake up in the hills, Lake Como, is named after the one in Italy.

    Originality suffers here, I fear.

I'll need to look at my schedule but it might be cool to finally do an adv rally of some sort. Any chance there'd be wimmens in their 20's? :D
