If I had a bigger wallet & far larger testicles this would pique my interest.
CR 500 Motard
You should try one of those on the ice!!:eek1
Er, I considered that for about the time it takes a Higgs Bosun to travel round Switzerland.
Got to love bikers, mad as cut snakes.
And i was thinking we got a 2 stroke page for new year!
We really need a page of our own
2 strokes the smell the sound it is like a strip club on wheels with smells and sound you gotta love
Denco "triple triple". Nuff said.
I love all 2 wheeled vehicles, but Old School 2 Strokes are what keep me sane......... would love to see a dedicated sub-forum.
20yr old PW80 count? :huh
My 75DT250B for vintage enduros and hare scrambles. Even did a vintage mx race on it a few weeks back. Wide ratio gearbox is a bit of an annoyance on the mx track, but nice in the tighter woods. Just ordered some new works shocks and planning on pulling the motor and sandblasting and repainting the frame soon.
Hoot to ride. Not so much to start on cold days.
What the?!?!!! :huh
The whole caption for the pic reads "In it's first race the Denco "Triple Triple" sets both ET and speed records in Top Gas. photo @ Keith Lee.
I don't know where that first race was but , I saw this bike run at the Motorcycle Record Runs in Bowling Green , Kentucky back in the mid -seventies. Denco was a well established West Coast 2 stroke tuneing outfit . The made expansion chambers, port mods , cafe stuff for streeters but, their biggest push was in Drag racing.
They offered a Streetable 750 triple Kaw that put out over 120 hp. The motor in the drag bikes didn't have to last long or be well mannered so who knows what they put out?
And this one had three motors ! It sounded like the gates of Hell had opened!
But it did the job and ran in the low 8 second bracket, if I remember correctly.
some more 8 seconds or so of adventure...
Snow machine mill?
As I recall yes. I have info on it in my blog somewhere but I'm hitting the rack. Think it Polaris but I'm not at all sure. We 2 strokers aren't "right"...
I can see that. I've been thinking about ways to make the forum easier to search and wondered if it might be useful to add some text to the thread title so the contents are easier to find. For example: include "Airhead" or "Honda CB" or "Two Stroke" to the subject line to make them easier to find. I think that even with two sub forums, searching is going to stay a mess.
In my other life, the one that gives me money to buy parts, I consult on database design of unstructured data; kinda like this place. The data in here is so unstructured that adding a forum wouldn't help accessibility, IMHO.
This gets done over on the Flea Market forum with some regularity and seems to work "WTB" "WTS" "For Trade" all work pretty well.
What do you guys think? We have so few 2 stroke threads, that it would be interesting to see if a couple terms in the subject would help.
I understand the problem, but don't think another forum is the answer.
Whatever it takes, to give BMW's their own sub forum in Old's Cool, will allow any and all other makes and models threads, to stand out and be noticed.
Well, maybe weed out the Starbucks/BMW crowd would make things better Oh I am J/K on the air head folks I like those bikes, but they, flood the Old's cool pages
My 2 cents is if there's enough room for a scooter forum ( and I like scooters, too) there's enough room for a 2 stroke forum. A 2 stroke forum would increase topics about them, IMO.
