Ok, so far we leave my house in Grayslake 6:00. That should put us in Galena by 9:00 ride till dark (4:00ish) back in Grayslake by 9:00 with a stop for chow.

I've got skadamo, fist, plus my bike and one for my dad, that leaves room for one more bike on my trailer.

I'll be on the 950, dad on my 525, skads on prolly his dr400, fist maybe the dr also?
Ride will be roads, sand and gravel roads, twisty hilly sand and gravel roads. pace will be as fast as possible (of course obeying all traffic laws)

Im not sure about Wed yet, But Im working on it. Just finishing up an Old Chicago Restraunt, pretty brutal in the last few days. I will come by truck with dakar in tow as Galena was the forbidden fruit on the last ride North :lol3

Sounds like a plan to me. I'll probably trailer over as well. Let me know what time and where to meet up.

Should I put knobs on the KLR?

Wed. dec.8 I'll get the GPS coordinates. I'll be on the 950 with the scorpions. We will be riding gravel roads, knobs would be fun but not necessary.

Old school's locale is off rt. 20 aprox. 10 miles east of Galena. Enter the subdivision of Galena Territories, you can't miss it.

    Coordinates are N42 23.403, W90 18.422

Skinner-I have no GPS (yet) but I'm sure a can find you, otherwise I'll take a nap at a gas station and you can stumble on to me :)

Chain-maybe (if you go) we can meet up west of Ottawa and north of Peoria. If temps are cold (30'ddd's) I'll probably trailer though!

    Joe,
Galena proved to be the forbidden fruit the last time I headed up there. I plan to load bikes Tues. eve and head out of Peoria by 5:30 am, this will put us in Galena around 10:30 or Savahna a bit earlier
If you guys are heading South at all, that would be in our favor. Dont let us hold you up. we can catch up for lunch if you give me a spot. Please no macdonalz We could unload in Savanah and meet for breakfast if you know a good greasy spoon.
Im certain I could leave the truck at Poopys and have a cold one at the Social club on the way home.

High of 34 deg. for next Wed. Think I'll get the heated grips and vest installed on the KLR this weekend!

Chain- I'll bring my tow strap :)

I may meet-up with you guys in Savanna as well. Let me know where.

I don't mean to sound like a giddy school girl but....

    What are you wearing?:jump

35 degz for a high, riding for 6+ hours. I need to do some serious trial runs this week. My drz only has the power to run 1 accessory. I ordered some of these...

And am thinking of poping for this heated vest...

I need to break mine out this year. I haven't done so since '91. Of course I prefer Winter Park or anywhere out west!

I'm thinking just behind Poopys on the main drag. Poopys is an orange and black joint on river side of the main drag, about 2 blocks North of the social club.
    Im thinking 9:45-10ish
cell 309.613.0254. Ill be watchin for the route. drymike has a Garmin 5 and software so I sent you his email.

34f thats not too bad if we are doing tight gravel. A little cool on the open road. Heated vest is all for me Skadamo. lets ride. we can be warm next summer.
