Just a humble remark in between all messages here: WHAT A BEAUTIFUL PICTURES + INFO.

I really need to win the lotery fast, only then I'll find the time (years) and money to see what the world really looks like.
But ssst, please continue with all pics …
In the mean time I'll just sit back and dream on.

    Some day …

    Hi everyone!
back home, it was very interesting trip. We spend 2 days in the Rybachy peninsula, beautiful off road, but terrible weather. Weather improved when we went to Teriberka, but we decided to to go further to Dalniye Zelenze, and when to Revda and took a very difficult off road track from Revda to Umba. our average speed was not more than 30km/h and in some section we were driving 1/3 of the time in water... Our inital plan was to go to Umba following this trail, but we started too late (15h30) and after 4 hours we had only done some 70km. So we stopped in Kirovsk. The section from Revda to Umba follows an abandonned train line, and in some occasion we were driving on it, to avoid the river crossing.

Ivan, havve you been riding this track? What's it's name? How is it when continuing further south to Umba? It's a pitty we didn't make it.

    Zimi Hello!
Yes, the track to the village Oktyabrsky from Revda along the former railway we called "1000 streams", there is always damp :)
I passed it alone and continue to Umba on XR250 and KTM690 several times.
The section from Umba to the village Oktyabrsky is very difficult to 650сс, but the ability of the Group.

if my '16 Indian cannonball bike is finished by May, I'm thinking of heading to Murmansk next summer. I'll let you know.
the cannonball is a cross country rally/race for 100 year old bikes this next september, I need to have it finished before I go riding around overseas :)

Great thread. I am planning to cross into Murmansk, then Keralia to Arkanghelsk, Komi and Siberia to Altai this summer (and beyond: Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan).

Very little info on northern Russia regions and republics, so this is very interesting info here. Thanks Ivan!
