Now for the evening's most memorable surprise. This fellow, whose handle skipped me by, pulled out a carbon fiber viola from his back pack and played wonderfully but all too short - shame on the oafs and ignoramuses who booed, they were out of line:

Here are some of my pics from Friday. As usual I had a great time because for me WF all about friends I don't get to see too often and the new ones that I get to meet and fun riding; anything more would just be a bonus.

With Halloween not to far off I will add this headless horseman pic. Gordy caught me off guard.

    They were there. :nod

I had a nice conversation with them regarding places they planned on visiting during their trip.

Didn't hear anything regarding the accident, though......

Ditto. Saw them looking for their t-shirts, and we chatted about the PUI Bird.

Jenn - I saw them both also and spoke with them. A rider with them was killed in a violent head-on with a large truck on the last turn going to the top of Kenosha Pass on their way here. They were obviously very shaken up by the terrible experience. I do not know the name of the rider involved...

That was what I was afraid of when I heard about the story (hence why I was checking in on them)... I hope they are doing okay.

I came across a rider down about ten miles north of Lake City, two o'clock Friday afternoon. It was a woman on a Yamaha cruiser. Just happened minutes before I got there, but she was being attended to by a medical person from a resort nearby. She was laying in the middle of the road and looked to be in pretty bad shape.
This is not the person you were speaking of ?

No. We actually rode by the north-bound ambulance that just left the scene of that accident heading up to Gunnison on our way into Lake City. The ambulance was traveling with lights on, but not at an "emergency" high rate of speed, so that could be good or bad. That was definitely a different accident and, as far as I know, did not involve anyone associated with the rally.

The other accident was on Kenosha Pass.

She wasn't wearing a helmet apparently, and had a couple head injuries which included a torn tear duct. As I understood it she was taken to Gunnison the flown to denver for surgery to repair. Someone attached to (I think) either Evil or Ballistic Ken knows more about it than I do.
