i wasnt planning on being near a pc this soon... i know i waffled a little while i was in colorado having a whooping truckload of fun(credit to those responsible in aride report when i get home) but i decided to stick with the plan, and i went home via moab.

i camped in town, and got up early for an attack on the white rim.

almost cleaned it. had to put my foot down a couple times. then there were the stops to refil the camelback, and a bunch of picture stops. but the ride was smooth(figuritively) and thrilling. :D

took a bit longer than i thought it would though... and i came back into moab to grab a campsite to rest up and prepare for lockhart basin. :evil

then i found a little campground in town, tucked a little further away. this i i need to check out... but you cant drive in. f that. turn around. front wheel in soft shoulder, im trying not to hose the place down with gravel... anyone see where this is going?:eek1

lucky, my head and right shoulder broke my fall.:clap

nothing broke, sore as hell. i checked into the best western around the corner. not sure if i can ride home or not. probably yes, but just slow.

    morning will tell..:deal

Thanks Tim for organizing WF and giving me an excuse to finally get out to Colorado on the bike! Also thanks to Wolfman and the other guy (didn't get your name) he was riding with that waited for my inexperienced self to successfully crest Tincup Pass on the F800.

Despite a late start on Sunday due to experimenting with the outer tollerances of my GI tract's ability to "refine" beer (it did successully turn all that beer into urine) I'm making good progress and am just west of St. Louis, hoping to blast through IL before calling it an evening.

I still want to know how Augie knew where SC Governor Mark Stanford lived during his tenure in DC...

    Tim,

    Great job man!

I pressed several to attend and 5 Noob's decided to take the plunge. All five had an outstanding time and have vowed to return next year. That is the response you want always want from first-time attenders!!!!

I am already looking forward to WF2010 and wondering.....

On my way back from West Fest in Salida for me. The hospital treated me great. The complimentary massage therapy and beautician visit was superb. The steaks delicious and the doctors were all hotties

Sorry that I took no photos of the exceptionally hot nurses on my floor.

One ankle is pinned and the other gets looked at tomorrow. It only took ten phone calls to Kaiser to get to the right person to make that happen too.

I am pain tolerant since I did not know the severity of my first fall. My ankle hurt, but was still flexible. So I tried to ride out to the next bailout and that did not work well. I fell again and broke my ankle. I didn't know it at the time but it felt funny and painful when I stood on it. I was hoping for a dislocation if worse

I tell you what really hurt. On Sat night, several of you FF's showed up to cheer me up after hearing about two ankles not one needed repair. (That's not easy to hear). Well the nurse starts talking about how she can give me morphine and she's messing with my IV at the time. The fellas show up ans we start talking after having just two tylenol earlier that day. I told Matt to bring up the Advil from the van since it seems like the morphine needed to be supplimented with something else and vicadin and morphine sounded too strong. We are chatting and it takes away the focus on the pain. When they left, it was intense so I call the nurse in and ask her to check on the morphine drip. She said, "What morpine drip"? :eek1 :cry :huh

Wish me luck on the AC tendon repair and hope I get it as early as Weds. After that, no standing for a long time. You guys are welcome to chat with me while I'm down and I'll probably become more of a post ho than I already am. Be on the lookout for that. :evil

Thanks for all the help from everyone who came to support me and make sure things were ok. It really helped out since I was getting a bit depressed already and needed it.

    THANK YOU!!!
