Funny I have the same tank bags.
Had those from when we went to Moab with the KLR's
Shudders. ... Kane Creek.
The first of my four broken thumbs. Great ride. Too bad all those pics are lost to photo bucket.
Just a bit rough for KLR ... lol
Loved that ride especially the creek wash near the end, need to go again with smaller bikes
You and Ralph I think
He slimed me.
Looks pretty nice in the photo! I have a corbin for you to try if you want....
I can’t wait until I’m grown up like you guys and get to go on moto vacations.....
Again I've said this to you before you can't do both . Grow up and do those things
Oh yea....that's why I keep telling the Boss I'm not gonna grow up....... She still hasn't let me take a part time job so she can work more though to support my motorcycle problem. Ah well, I'm still trying to convince her.
Easily the best riding ever.
Just have to make it happen.
Yup, I've heard... It the Boss' birthday tomorrow and we are going for a ride out the rail grade from CGar if interested.....
Dang! I have plans to be in Naksup, or I’d join.
Do update when complete!
The rail grade from CGar is clear and dry all the way to the Bulldog tunnel, at that point they have just cleared snow so there is an inch or two. A group of quadbillies headed through so I'm sure it will get chewed and melt pretty quick. On the map it shows a road going down to Renata but the only one we found has a gate on it. Anyone made that trip?
Rode the new to me WRR back home. I was casting an eye down to rail trail. Fair bit of snow near the Paulson bridge.
Bike is great. Less vibes at highway speed than I anticipated. Course coming off the KTM640, anything would feel smooth. Held 105 kmh up the big hill despite me acting like a mainsail. Fuel light came on just before Nancy Green lake and I put 6.8 litres in at Rossland. That’s just about empty I believe.
Went up and over Bulldog in 2007. We didn't ride through the creek to get to Renata but were right across from it.
We turned a right off the railgrade just before the Bulldog tunnel (coming from Cgar) on a quad track which got us onto a road, turned left onto the road. 14 years ago, memory getting foggy, things may have changed. I recall a gate but it wasn't an issue. I can dig up a GPS track. The guy I did the ride with went there again a few years later and mentioned that the Dog Creek/Renata side of the "road" over Bulldog was getting very chewed up/loose due to quad traffic.
That sounds like the same trail we found, there are new logging roads through there now crossing the old trail. It is wide enough for a pickup and the gate is in a steep spot so there is no getting around it even on a bike.
Cool. Corbin’s have usually worked well for me!
Dang! That would suck for someone coming from Renata.
Time for a work party to build another access?
Looking at Backroads map it looks as though access from Hwy 3 via FSRs is possible but riding the railgrade would be MUCH preferred over blacktop to Nancy Greene or beyond.
Bridges are pulled out and the road is deactivated (heard they completely destroyed the road) past the Westfall River.
