That particular food group can turn one into a couch. Very satisfying.
The weekend was great riding.
My new neighbour helps to cook with a bunch of other local men at the Brilliant Cultural Center annual pyrohi (not sure if i'm spelling it right yet?) lunch and I was invited so had to check it out. 3 types--potatoe, cheese, and bean-- Very filling because they are huge and baked with butter and sour cream on the side, coleslaw and desert included. Then rode Trail, Salmo, Nelson, and back home loop on a sunny Sunday. I kinda like living on a paved go kart track.
Fitting in very well. !
Today. Goose Creek.
You gotta love the weather !
High above Castlegar. 75F here today. Last week, I could not even enter a side road due to over a foot of snow. This week, at 1200 meters ...I rode Almost 3 km on the same, now muddy, road.
Soon, .... it is melting rather quick up there !
Nice bike. Nice scenery!
Looking good. I need to find a rear tire then get you to show me some sites.
Went up Norn's road/Ladybird FSR today. Only made it 6km up till I was stopped by snow.
The warm weather is starting to really impact the snow level. Spent most of my spare time this weekend getting the Guzzi on the road. Big shoutout for Echelon insurance on top of ICBC mandatory. The Echelon was $150 for the year for the Guzzi. Huge saving and better coverage.
If anyone is interested, I am going to head out riding next weekend and try and get in a loop along the rail bed and the Christina to Rossland.
Do you have a good place to source a replacement Yuasa battery (Canadian or with cheap shipping?). The big KTM is in need of some new juice....
Hope all is well,
I wonder if that is the same battery that came with it when I owned your 950? If so, that is great longevity. Unfortunately there are no great deals on Yuasa, you will probably pay around $200. The alternative is a cheap battery from WalMart or Canadian Tire. The Canadian Tire batteries will give you 3 years or so if you take really good care of them.
Motorcycle Innovations have some better prices on Yuasa.
Yes the same one, so I really shouldn't complain. (Except for the $283+tax quote I got from Holeshot....)
Will try the Internet to see what I can find. Enjoy the sun!!
$175 + $12 shipping. So a little over $200 with tax for Ytz14s
I got a sealed AGM Yuasa battery for my MG SPII from Batterymart for less than a hundred bucks US. With shipping is was a little over a hundred. They have YTZ14s batteries for 67 bucks.
Hey JD. Got a link ?
here ya go:
I've bought a few batteries from them. Quick delivery, great price. Running one of their AGM Marathon Miata batteries in my Eldorado.
OK deal if you can get it shipped to below the 49th and bring it into Canada yourself. Otherwise the shipping/border fees kill the deal.
Ended up going with Edmonds Battery. They had a Yuasa AGM for $179 Canadian.
Most importantly it's now in the garage ready to be installed tonight...
Thanks for all the help - really appreciate the suggestions.
Some nice riding today. Rossland to Christina Lake on the Old Cascade Highway. Snow is all gone, lots of trees down, but some kind soul cut enough to squeeze through. Road is in very good shape and a relatively easy ride.
Old and Large Ponderosa Pine
Above Christina Lake
Dozens of trees down nearing the summit of Santa Rosa FSR
Nice 200km loop for me. The KTM is a beast and just rips these roads.
next time i'm by Christina lake, i'm gonna explore. looks great.
