    Hey Snr,

If you get hungry in YAAK, get over to the "Dirty Shame Saloon". Great burgers and suds. In the old days it was a very 'colorful' place.
Now that the road is paved, it's not nearly as much fun tho'.

That would be a dirty shame!
Does that mean I will have to ride all the way to Florence to get a decent meal?
But, then again, I'll have my flyrod with me.

There's plenty of decent meals between here and Billings. I know where you can get at least one!

Hey Snr Moment, if you are camping out around Yaak, I suggest getting directions on how to ride up Hensley Hill. It is directly behind and north of the Dirty Shame. I think it must have been an old cold war radar site or something 'cuz they flat-topped the mountain. At any rate, it is a great spot to watch the stars from. I always try to spend one night up there when in town.

Let me know how the fishing is. I read a long time ago that all the logging around there silted up many of the streams. I hope that isn't true. Beautiful little river meanders past town....

If you need a place to stay, just jump on highway 2 and follow it down to Spokane. Probably a 4-5 hour ride from Yaak. Nanc and I would be happy to put you up for a night or two. Bring me a couple more MT stickers!

Thanks to everyone who helped and showed up to enable the contribution. And we ate well, and drank enough (at least for me), too.:clap

Oh - and screw you, Tyll. At least if you are where I think you are this weekend. I am supremely jealous.:ddog

Aussie - have the camera ready, all I need are fish. Pix are on the menu.

Dale - thanks for the input and invite. The hilltop camping spot you described is exactly what I'm looking for - will check it out. Will be heading east after Yaak to Whitefish, tour a little of Glacier NP, and watch the grandsons play some football. Could send you a couple more, have some left. PM me with your addy.

    Chris - could I get a delivery?:deal

That really would be a shame. I always felt it was a little bit of MT history:rofl . I haven't been up there in over a year so I can't say for sure.
Lots of good times in the past there tho'....

A couple of pix. Fishing sucked, riding was insane. Mini RR: https://s3.amazonaws.com/advrider-photobucket-images/images/i/itileman_003.jpg

The Dirty Shame is open & recently remodeled - Breakfast, lunch & dinner + beverages. Pic of me and Chains45 taken by Gloria, the owner. FWIW, I'm the short old dud.

Hensley Hill, a bit too rocky for camping. Woudn't have made it before dark anyway. Road up is 5 miles long to go about 2,500 feet up.

Aw, but the stars at night from the top are incredible! Glad you made it up there. How was the ride on the Uly? I never noticed the rocks in my rooftop tent :rofl.

BTW, there is a nice looking used Ulysses for sale at Westside motorsports in Spokane. Sat on it for a moment when I was out there this afternoon picking up my wife's riding gear. It's really a comfortable bike, and I can flatfoot it better than on my "new" R1150RT.
