I'm on my way but I've got a bit of a problem. This isn't what a muffler should look like. I've tried several things on the way so far but haven't had anything last more than an hour at best. Any suggestions?

I will be up tomorrow afternoon......just have to deal with the usual incompetence and headaches that go along with 30 people in my department and 700,000 sq feet of resort / casino with guests who just want something for free because it....(pick one) rained overnight, its to hot outside, its to cold outside, its nighttime, its daytime, or any of a thousand reasons to gripe, yes I need some time off :drink

Bikes loaded, Jr and I will be pulling out in the am...Quick stop to hit the beer store in Junction, find a new lid for the bucket head kid. Amazing how hard it is to find a XXXL helmet. We have sent three online orders back, so maybe we can find one in GJ. He has an old one, it is just a little tight, makes his eyes bulge!!

Hope it's not my wife! She's actually staying at the Casino right now. Unfortunately I have to miss WF this year. I let a GM go last month so I'm staying home doing his job. Y'all have fun!

I'm not gonna make it until Friday night. It is looking to be cooler and WET on Thurs and Friday especially, the monsoon flow is coming back strong those 2 days. Plan ahead...

I will be riding full days Sunday and Monday (drier days) in case anybody else wants to ride with me those days and do a long loop: Lake City/Ouray/Telluride loop with me (Engineer, Imogene, Ophir, Corkscrew and Cinnamon passes). Look me up on a black BMW 650, green MSR tent.

Did Black Bear Pass today with njbill and it was at this spot when I was in need of oxygen. This one really tested my limited skills! [IMG]

One of our 650L's started running horrible today on a short shake-down and we have it torn apart in the garage. We have gone through the carb, cleaned the plug, checked the valves.....and will give it a test in the morning. We plan to get out of Dodge no later than 10am.....but we have to make a run to Montrose, before settling in to the KOA in Gunnison.

I am the Coffee Guy this year. Not sure where Java Central will be.....but on Friday morning....just follow the smell of coffee grounds. I am typically up before 6am and will have the first cup of Hot Joe, ready by about 6:30am.

By the way.....anyone bringing a little bike? Hartman Rocks is just down the road from the KOA and it is killer single track with a bit of Moab Rock flair..... I hope to have a little WR426 is run some of those trails one day.

Ok....good news....the Honda is purring like a kitten again.....or growling with that after market pipe.

By the way, TDBiker and I will be tackling Pearl Pass to Aspen and back over Taylor on Friday. An advanced rider on a lighter bike is welcome to join us. We will both be on "mountain geared and tuned" Honda XR650L's....but you don't want to tackle Pearl on anything over 300lbs or so and you don't want to run out of talent on this ride.

Okay so I'm new here.. Questions if anyone has time...
Is it too late to do the westfest event?
I'm a new street bike rider though I have years of dirt experience behind me..soooo, I'm not as confident on this bigger heavier bike.. Will there be rides that I can participate in that will go easy on a newbie?

Delta will have to answer the "is it too late question", but WestFest has always welcomed Newb's with open arms. WestFest was where I got my start, years and years ago. There are all sorts of ride opportunities from all pavement to light dirt to moderate dirt to tough dirt to insane dirt.

I bet you could come on and pay at the door....but probably won't get some of the swag that needed to be ordered early.

It's never to late to ride in and meet people! WestFest 2015 was my first Adv Rally. I'd been a street biker and jeeper my life until buying Delta21's old SP600 a month prior to Westfest starting... There's enough guides for every skill level, from slow speed courses to nice grated dirt roads with some rough terrain up to the guys driving up boulders.

My bike's down, so I'll be in the Crosstrek this year with my hammock again and giant tent as back up. Heading out in the morning!!!!

I've been taking the car on trails I've been wanting to take the bike on XD [IMG]

Lisa -- (Jen Mathis here) -- this is an amazingly easy going group with many levels of riders. If you come, I can absolutely guarantee many folks to ride with at whatever level you're looking for. There are no "formal rides" in which everyone does the same ride together. Part of the fun of this rally is finding spin off smaller groups that fit you, and making a day together. Easy peasy. Besides, it's just a kick in the pants fun time.

    You should come.
