Hi Simba, when you visit Quebec City, don't miss the ''Old Quebec'' , the fortifications, the Chateau Frontenac and a lot of others nice places. You also have to eat a ''poutine'' at the restaurant chez Ashton :evil. It would be a pleasure to meet you here. If you're interested, we could possibly ride a bit together in the mid/end of the day...I will probably be able to take a half day off the job if the weather is not too cold and if my boss cooperate...

Hope the good weather will be with you,
    Martin

I see your preliminary schedule that you have posted. Do you have a route planned on this schedule?
There might be a possibility of riding with you, and or your group. Send a P.M. if interested.

Fox.. Thanks for sharing that. Been to Que City and Montreal but never really toured any of the province.

Pics above are great. Will have to take in some of that scenery this summer.

If you're going all the way to Saint-Siméon, then, on your way back, you have to take the ferry to Rivière-du-Loup. http://traverserdl.com/ I have done it quite a few times and it's great.

You then take route 132, and you will cross many picturesque and historic villages. Traffic is mainly local, so no problem.

The South shore is very different from the North shore and also superb.

If you're in a hurry to get back, say au revoir and take the 20. Not interesting but fast. You can even bypass Mtl using the 30 and the Valleyfield bridge.
Here are a few web sites to occupy you while the snow melts.

We definitely need to get some good poutine into Simba.
If we can also find a place that makes good milkshakes, that should guarantee good reviews when he gets home and tells everyone about us. :rofl

No doubt about it--its a weakness. Milkshakes 2500, Simba 0.
I am looking forward to seeing and touring Quebec. And I hope to see at least one whale, but its really the journey that counts.

Blashpemy! Ashton is a 'decent' fast food chain poutine, far from the benckmark. :amazon

This place will have you tip your bike over as you get ready to leave.

My clothes already don't fit me well. Just looking at these poutine pictures are making the clothes tighter.

I am going crazy without riding.

below on my TW200. Riding on snow is fun, on ice its horrible.

    Hello Friends,
We will be riding this route.
Is one direction better than the other?
I like the idea of a ferry first, then ride back 'counterclockwise'.

From Quebec to Saguenay is now a highway in the wood, 2-way on each side almost all the way ... I advise you to do this part first because it is less interesting on that side .. . woods and lakes, pee break and lakes and woods ... oops ... did I mention the radar...

If Saint Simeon is your final destination I'd suggest continuing on the 138 and cross the river to Tadoussac (a free ferry) (more excitement). From there take the 172 to Saguenay and on to thru on the 170 till you get to 381. Take 381 back to the 138 and home. The 381 is a much less travelled route and runs along the side of the National Park.

    Hello Friends,

For those wishing to join us along the way. We are a total of three riders so far: 2 from Michigan and 1 from Ontario.

    Friday May 8th: Prescott, Ontario
Saturday May 9th: Saint Simeone, Quebec
Sunday and Monday tour the area including brief visit of Quebec City. Plan to ride around the Fjord Du Saguenay and Gulf of St. Lawrence,
Tuesday May 12th start heading home via smaller Canadian towns and avoid major highways when possible.

I might be able to extend my trip a little bit if there are other riders who want to join in along the way. If the weather is completely crappy, then might start heading home as planned.

    Thanks,
    Simba
