It’s a seriously well built and designed bike. The engine is an absolute animal, right off idle, and up to redline. Got about 1000 miles on it so far and it’s a very satisfying purchase.
Test rode this last weekend, it was wet and it was cold. Picked it up yesterday, it rained and was cold. Went out first thing this morning, it rained and was cold. Still had a stupid grin on my face all the time, just wait till Spring
Recently bought this ... a brand new 2018 KTM 690 Duke: Decided I wanted a light weight back road bike. Was thinking Ninja 650 maybe. FZ/MT 07 maybe. I've had Ducati Monsters in the past so no needed to do that again. I've also had motards in the past and was looking for more comfort than that. During my thinking/searching I came across the 690 Duke. I had heard about these, knew about them, but not sure why this didn't initially jump to my short list of bikes. I have a kind of bad knee, and the riding position on these bike is pretty relaxed, another big plus. Seems to be one of the lightest back road bikes ever made. So read more, in 2016 they put in the updated 690 motor with the extra counter balancer, some more power, and a few other benefits. So started looking for a 2016-2018 used one (2018 was last year they came to US). And lucky lucky me, found a brand new leftover for a super reasonable price. Done!! What a wonderful motorcycle! Can't believe I totally overlooked this in the past.
2008 Yamaha FZ1 with only 5200 miles on her. Previous owner sure took nice care of her, thanks man. One little dent in the exhaust, otherwise like new.
hey, you're from Ohio, you know it's stinking winter. He'd need studded tires to be sure to make it out of Michigan. 14°F for tomorrow 12/25... a mighty cold Christmas Day.
And according to his profile he lives in New Mexico. That would be an epic* trip this time of year. *epic = sucky
Was that the used 17 speed triple from triumph of detroit? My friend was hemming and hawing over that bike. If so, I guess he missed out!
You betcha! I wonder what the lake effect is off of Michigan tonight. I do know it is ranging around 10+ inches from just below Canton up to Cleveland over to Ashtabulah. I think epic* might be an understatement for part of the ride.
I'll be very interested to hear about your experience with having the bike shipped, after everything is said and done. Sometimes it's slim pickin's for buying certain types of motorcycles in NM.
