Never seen a 2 stroke cruiser. Doesn't it go a bit against the grain of what a cruiser is?

PS. Not bagging 2 strokes, I'm a huge fan and have a few.

    Exactly why I’d want one.

A shameful waste of a good Bultaco...

I'm betting even with the perforated stinger it is deafening. I know my Sherpa S 175 was.

I'd much rather see that engine in something like this:

Meh. It's a junkyard dog. A whole lot more Bultaco engines and frames have survived than tanks, wheels, forks, seats...

I was working in a Yamaha dealership at the time. The "regular" RX50 Special shown was sold through the usual channels in both red and black. The RX50 Midnight Special with a gloss black engine and gold-tone trim panels on the side covers was the freebee. They were sent out to high-volume dealers, gratis, to raffle off or sell as they wished. We called it the "Midnight Chainsaw."

But they're repopping stuff like that now. I had an M27 Sherpa T, a "one year" model before the ubiquitous M49. They're repopping seats for them now, $300. I had lost mine when I put on a custom seat back in 73. Same with the tanks, repopping is easy once molds are made. But you are right. Just a bummer that it's some kind of bobber/chopper when there's so many cool vintage type applications.

Kinda/sorta. Been wanting a small cc bike for squirting around my small town/island in lieu of my R9T (only bike). The R9T does great, but doesn't come close to feeling "wrung out" on our twisty roads, in fact its more like "really? thats all you got? pussy" when I ride it hard around here.

Does anyone make a small displacement bike that isn't budget/beginner focused?

Today I think I want a R NineT UGS, with the suspension off of my R1200GSW.

    That's a cool looking bike!
KTM and Husqvarna make competent small displacement bikes, but so does BMW, Kawasaki and Honda. The label of beginner bike is often misplaced. I had a racer friend who often led the pack on his Ninja 250 during our weekend outings in the Santa Cruz mtns.

Wow, that brings back memories. I had a Gemini Boss 80 when I was a kid. It had spoke wheels and about the size of my friends Honda SL 70 except it was much crappier.

I bought one in March. Hands down the most fun motorcycle in my garage. You’re going to love it.
