The Crescent brand ones from Bunnings are Ok for most things and don't taste that bad when you have to hold them in your mouth for a while. One of the disadvantages of being retired, I have to buy my own. We used to use SS ones and they provided a longer lasting solution but needed the proper tightening and cutoff tool to do the job properly. Here's a field repair that TP would endorse. Sorry, the ends are cut off a bit rough, I only had a Leatherman and the wire cutter doesn't do a neat job.
i rode with this guy on a BMW Safari, he was over 70 I took this pic of him outside the Woods Point Hotel The next day where this pic was taken i was catching him as he fell into the creek
By the way, I use a fair few cable ties in the shed(manufacturing) and get a small pair of sidecutters and grind the back off flush. Quicker to use than a knife when doing batches.
I already have the boots..!! They look like alpinestar toucans. I have thought about something like that, but not that thick. And maybe if I was 70 I wouldn’t care what my mates thought, they’d be told old too help me lift a bike anyways.. Just don’t get me started on my stupid fat feet and boot shopping.. Toucans were as wide as I could find in that style / quality and still snug. creek to bank exits are usually where I fall down. Don’t have the momentum and probably over cautious in the creek speed wise, as if I tip, I’m going down. Exits like this.. rocks big enough in the creek to tip me and just not enough speed to motor up and out.
I get mine off MrJin! I go thru literally thousands, always something to tie out of the road in the auto game! Best tip is get the correct cutters, majority of my war wounds are from poorly cut cable ties
I thought it was funny when a family member gave me this car sticker just before xmas, and then my daughter gave me a huge assorted bag of cable ties for xmas
Careful.. Don’t make me put on my ass kickin boots.. Wrong thread, but still appropriate That’s the glory of Rossi- he’s thread universal..
I want some of these bastards. https://www.ebay.com.au/i/184459724...a-0Wgv671-zffQ5PGmFknErdHRw1wgQcaAlB8EALw_wcB
Without doubt, the best. In a previous life I worked on big aluminium flying tubes that converted kerosine (huge amounts of) into speed and noise. Specified (Aus "Milspec") cable ties were only Panduit, so much so that I only knew them as "Panduit Straps" for some years after I left the military. After my "collection" ran out I had to buy them . Now, for non-critical stuff I use Aldi bulk packs. If it's serious holding required, I use Crescent or Panduit (if I can find them).
