This is probably my dodgiest ever field repair without using cable ties. Rum cans and fencing wire was all I had to work with. Now if I'd had Stainless Steel zipties I could have done a professional job.
Howzabout some of these bastards? Surely your mates wouldn't take the piss? Back OT I carry a bunch of big-arse cable ties when offroad Rally racing strapped to bum,/tail bag, just in case i need to do an emergency/get to bivvy repair (TP style.) Fortunately never had to use them. Always got a selection in the tank bag when ADV riding, bumbag when trail riding and a few in the the MTB tailbag - handy things them cable ties!
The stainless steel ones from the Big Green Supermarket are working brilliantly for me - ever since I've been carrying them in the emergency kit, I've had zero reasons to use them.............
