Jaycar cable ties and flush side cutters:
Good range of sizes:
And I should probably start a thread for this, but Jaycar also sell heat shrink tubing in 1 metre lengths with lots of sizes.
This is probably my dodgiest ever field repair without using cable ties. Rum cans and fencing wire was all I had to work with.
Now if I'd had Stainless Steel zipties I could have done a professional job.
Howzabout some of these bastards?
Surely your mates wouldn't take the piss?
I carry a bunch of big-arse cable ties when offroad Rally racing strapped to bum,/tail bag, just in case i need to do an emergency/get to bivvy repair (TP style.)
Fortunately never had to use them.
Always got a selection in the tank bag when ADV riding, bumbag when trail riding and a few in the the MTB tailbag - handy things them cable ties!
The stainless steel ones from the Big Green Supermarket are working brilliantly for me - ever since I've been carrying them in the emergency kit, I've had zero reasons to use them.............
Black ones from work...
... It was hay baling wire when I was a kid...
I only use "Mick Taylor" backpacker rated ties.
I might have to try them, my wife keeps breaking out of the ones I have
