Today I watched three friends who had never worked on a Vincent install a new electronic magneto ignition and offered helpful comments. ;). I’ve discovered that $90k motorcycles make me strangely nervous.

Today I spent some time up on top of the garage with leaf blower blowing clean my gutters and roof.

Took longer than expected, but successfully mounted and balanced the D606 rear tire on my DR650 today. First time ever attempting, so...

That OEM deathwing was a total bitch to get off. Motion Pro bead breaker irons not even close. The DR650 rears are notorious to beak the bead, so I ordered the Best Rest Bead BreakR tool and got it just in time. Leverage in a pouch! Overpriced but very effective (priceless in the backcountry). Will carry that onboard now always with my spare tubes and tools.

Used the Marc Parnes tire balance tool and slick reusable spoke weights from No Mar.

    Cleaned, lubed and adjusted chain.

Applied anti seize to the axle threads and torqued down to 75% of spec value. Then checked I can actually back the nut off with the small box wrench I carry. Absolutely no way I could’ve broken that nut free in the field without my shop tools. Factory gorilla installed.

Will tackle the front tomorrow and look forward to checking out my new knobs!!

Slowly prepping bike for the Idaho BDR next summer. All new Cogent suspension this winter!

Edit: Front D606 now mounted with minimal cussing. These tires make the bike sit noticeably taller. Works for me!

Had a foggy passenger side mirror that was no longer auto-dimming on my BMW 128i. Found a used perfect one for $130 shipped. Took a minute to change.

Changed the rear brake pads on my F150. Hardest part was getting the wheels off. Had to hit the back of the wheel with a sledge hammer to knock them off.

Just a little quick bodywork on a friend's car. It was dented with metal showing. I bumped it out and painted it for temporary, until we have time to finish it.

Well in CA every two years we need to get a smog check.
Check how much bad emissions are coming out of the tail pipe.
    It’s always dreadful in a 30+ vehicle.

I wanted a lifty handle on the lid of my tool chest. Not having a lifty handle, I purchased one at the 'Depot and installed it minutes ago.

Last night, helped my son change oil, filter, and air filter in his Jeep. Tonight, flushed and filled the radiator with fresh antifreeze before the snow flys in a couple of days!

Put my 1190 on the charger after leaving the GPS on for a week.

Then put my portable booster pack on the charger after leaving it in the on position for six months... In the car trunk.

Then pushed the DR650 out of the garage and rode.......

For the past few months I've been laying a welding jacket over my MIG welder. Today the new TIG welder arrived and the MIG is now tucked in a shelf out of the SO's direct sight. The TIG is where the MIG was and has a welding jacket draped over it.

I bought a new bench grinder just to use for tungsten and it's proudly displayed in the open as a distraction. Even left the box in the floor.
