I knew you were getting it.
We all know what it's like once you sit on it, then you start seeking reviews on utube and read all there is to be read about it. You just can't stop thinking about it until you just have to do it.
Good on ya Dan, enjoy mate.

Well, sort of like that. It has more to do with the complete lack choice here. Would you buy a BM off Autohaus ? I wouldn’t have minded an F800gs. Had a look at the Honda AT. I wanted a manual and all they had was DCT. I could have bought a 2 year old, 2nd hand 1200 Tenere for the same price of a new 1000 Strom.

Even whacked on the new alternator belt that's been hanging on the wall for the last ten years...

Just got back from an hours riding around our 'magnificent' rural roads here in Sth Gippy.

    Pure awesomeness!

Or what i did not do to the bike today.

With every new bike. You always spend a bit of time checking things out. Had a look at the stock tool kit for the DL1000XT. it is a shocker.

There are no tools in the kit to adjust the chain or remove the wheels. To remove the front wheel you need a 24mm Allen key, 30mm ring spanner and a 36 mm ring spanner for the rear axle nut.

Lucky for me Sidchrome had the foresight to see such things all those years ago and made a right size ring spanner for the job. :)

Pulled the rear shockie out. Off to Shock Treatment tomorrow to hopefully get the pre load adjuster fixed.

Eventually got around to doing the other side of this bloke. New push rod seals, a clean up and chucked a new set of rings in because I was in there anyway :thumb Carby rebuild next on the agenda.

Buying a new bike. Is never just the bike.

Fitted a Rad Guard, Garmin GPS, GPS bracket, Givi Airflow.

Krikey... How hard is it to upgrade the low beam bulb in these new stroms ? you have to dismantle the dashboard to get to the bulb holder.

I realise I may get a bit boring in saying it but I just love riding it and listening to it as I go through the gearbox getting the best I can out if it. Just makes me feel great and alive with out scaring the --- out of me.

Understand completely mate. I had the same feeling when I was touring on the wife's XT250. No pressure, no stress, just relaxed riding. Can't wait to get another "mini" adventurer.
