Finished installing a RG underseat tank on my SE... it was.. interesting..
Customers bike, 2013 Baja found at a dealer w/140 miles on the clock!, 1000 miles on it now in for it's first service, all fluids changed.
Burping the cooling system after changing over to Engine Ice.
Oddly enough, I own the exact same bike.
Swap license plates and keep the fresher one
I've burped mine by removing the rear wheel and tilting the bike down to the swing arm. I restrain the center stand up the front so it can't fold.
A 2x4 under the stand helps lift the bike just right.
^^^^^^^I'll say it again, what a circus to bleed the air. *Seems* they could have left a vent to positively bleed the trap.
Thanks Braap! I appreciate it.
That's a really good idea!
Do you think he'd notice? (lolz)
Suspension is worn so I dropped it off with Eric at Superplush for a rebuild, revalve, and respring. While it was apart the swingarm and steerer bearings were replaced.
False Brinelling on the swingarm bearings.
Can't wait to go jump it!
Sold it. Moved my old brittle body over onto an LC4. It’s been an all-consuming passion and project for 9 years but ran out of mods I wanted to make. Still the ultimate adventure bike, even compared to the new computers-with-footpegs, and I will always regret selling it.
Thanks to everyone on this crazy awesome forum for all your help and guidance. Hope I have been able to repay a hundredth of that with what I have managed to figure out or dream up myself.
Added a BETTER brake light & got rid of the Micky mouse ears
A few more items should be arriving anytime as well
I used mine the last day
Looking forward to new rubber. Got a Mitas E-12 and E-13 ready together with Michelin UHD tubes
A refresh on my well used second set of wheels, looks like I got those sprocket carrier bearings just in time.
Spooned on a fresh set of GT 723's, I haven't used these before and I'm interested how they stack up to the Scorp Rally/908 combo.
I liked those a lot, but they are slick on wet roads. Fun on dry pavement and for my level of riding dirt/sand we have here, worked well. At full pressures they wore well too. I'm going with Scorpions for the KTM Rally in September, mostly because I have them and won't be needing any big knobbies on gravel roads.
Mounted a Triple clamp moto damper mount and a Savage damper.
Added a stablemate this weekend, 2008 Superduke in mint condition, I was going to buy a new 790 Duke, but just couldn't pass up this sweet deal. Love the LC8
Shout out to @Moose Dog for great service at a fair price. Conscientious and meticulous. From where I sit -- everything you want from a guy working on your bike. Two Thumbs up. PS: I didn't know him before this experience.
