#1 I really really don't like leaving Mexico to come home.
#2 Very distant number 2, would maybe be border crossings.

Other than those 2 obvious ones, I really can't find anything at all.:D
    How about you?

Drunk drivers. I live in San Diego, and make frequent trips to Tijuana, Tecate, Ensenada, San Quintin, and points further south on a pretty regular basis. I usually ride, even when I am going down on business; particularly because it shaves 2-3 hours off the return trip b/c of the border lines.

I love the people, the food, the culture, and the lifestyle. But there are a lot of drunks on the road at night. A good portion of them are from the States, going down to party, and forgetting that it is just as stupid, reckless, and illegal to drink and drive in Mexico as it is in the States. I can't tell you how many times I have had close calls with cars coming at me in my lane, pulling out in front of me, swerving into my lane, riding up on me with or without lights, etc. Last year, I bought a day glow reflective vest and it helped a little, but I finally just said screw it, and now I won't ride at night when I am there.

Other than that, the only thing that comes to mind is marking accidents with rocks. Those f---ers can be hard to see!

I hate the roads. They are way too twisty. I read a trip report that complained that it took for ever to cover small distances due to the tight mountain roads. I hate that. :ricky

I hate the people. They actually pretend to like tourists and be helpful. Yeah, like I believe that. :grinner

I hate the small hotels that give you lots of lodging options at reasonable prices. Why can't it be like the US were small family run hotels is an extinct species and the large chains can gauge you as much as they want because there is little real competition? :jkam

I hate the food, not to mention the drinks. No need to expand further. :kbasa

The list goes on and on. If it wasn't because my wife drags me there kicking and screaming, I would never go there on vacation... :augie

(pssst, Pilot, how'd I do? :buellerDon't blame me if people keep traveling there... :deal)

    Is it December yet? :lol3

South, away from the cold and rain of the PNWet... :evil

The original plan was going to meet some friends in Oaxaca for New Year's. :freaky The plan seems to be in flux now, so the destination may vary to somewhere closer to the DF to accomodate my (FF :lol3) friends who can't manage to schedule a short vacation around New Year's to go on a ride from the DF to Oaxaca, but expect me to come all the way from Oregon...

It's a tough job, but somebody has to do it. :D

How's your travel plan coming along? IIRC, you were planning to start in November and go to CenAM, right? Where are you planning to celebrate the New Year?

Pretty good. You forgot those nasty beaches, though. I really hate those. That damn sand everywhere, and where's all the people? I would really rather go someplace popular.

And if I ever see another palm tree it will be too soon. I can do without those. What the hell is the matter with branches?

And those damn rock piles they call "ruins". Who needs to see that? What's the matter with new stuff? Around here, they bulldoze all that old crap and build brand new shiney stuff. Much better.

So, no reason to go to Mexico at all. None, nada, don't bother. Please. :evil :lol3

If I was, it would be Woodford Reserve.:clap Makes the best tiddy stains and also handy as a pain medication in post accident Mexico.
