Funny reading all this about what I dont like about Mexico.

Nice to know Im not the only one with the opinion of,

My wife and I just got sick and tired of telling people of what a great place it is to blank stares. We changed our ideas and now, PEOPLE, it is a horrible place. Dont go there. Banditos, robbers and military people will hold you up! Thats what I dont like about the place! And like said, I hate all those happy children, especially when you hand them a soccerball or stickers and how the screaming happiness starts all over again.:clap

Enjoyed reading this one everybody, going back in a couple of weeks, hope to meet a few of you in this Horrible Place, till then,

    Dont drink it dry!:freaky

I hate the fact that they are so fucking happy. I mean how can you possibly live a real life without Wal-Mart or Starbucks? Barbarians I tell you. Its way too Tranquilo. They need some asshole law enforcement and more road rage!!!! Then I might visit!!!

Ok, someone tell me...what's a tope?

Is that like a speed hump or summat?

Speed humps are cool, they're for jumping dirt bikes over.:lol3

I notice you didn't post the pic of those kids eating that nice puppy either?

A topes is a speed bump. They can be the speed bumps from hell, you just never know. Most are marked with signs, but some are in shady corners where you don't think one would be. The bad ones are made of concrete and six or seven inches tall, angled at about 60 degrees, about two feet wide and corrigated by pressing two by fours into the wet concrete every couple inches. Makes it like jumping a curb.

Trust someone to screw up something so simple as a speed hump.

What we hate the most is our dentist in San Felipe. She makes us laugh and charges $35 for a filling. Her little dog licks your fingers and her husband willingly talks and talks and talks. Other than that it's not so bad.

I don't mind the concrete topes, just get up on the pegs, down shift and give the bike some gas. Wheelie over, it become a game before too long.
I don't like the steel ball type topes, luckly most of the time there are a few missing to sneak through. But if you need to hit one, hit dead on, or slide sideways, bouncing from topes to topes.
You have not lived until you hit an un-seen exceptional large topes at 70 mph.

A funny thing I observed last time I was down there was that the dogs use the topes as cross walks. They know thats were the cars slow down and they know they are NOT going to slow down anywhere else. Our sweater wearing American dogs would never figure that out.

Man, I just added a few lives this last week, chasing Motomano and Johan... :eek1 One particular tope made me catch so much air, I had to make sure the bike was all there after I landed. Man, these V-Stroms are tough. :freaky

I had the honor of riding with Johan and some of the others from the MotoAventuras web site last March. All good riders, difficult to keep up with, for a old fat slow Minnesotan like me. I wish I was in Mexico now instead of at work.
