Heather and I are going on a very special trip this weekend. Essentially our first vacation in a year and our first overnight on the bikes. Doing 4 hours north today and all day tomorrow. See you guys Saturday!

YEP. Heading way north today near the Canadian border and camping. renting a Slingshot tomorrow for the day (heather wants one and has wanted to test one for a while) and then Saturday , unpaved roads with the BMW club just a 150 mile loop. wasn't going to go but the 'lead' dropped out so we're adding a night and camping with the club.

Local shop took a Slingshot in on trade. All the shop rats were excited to take it for a spin - most test rides lasted less than 30 minutes because it's boring; especially compared to a motorcycle.

    You'll see...

That's why we are pretty excited that it's a test drive. $89 for 8 Hours on a week day if you rent a camp site from them. I figured that's a great way to find out if she likes it or not. She's less hot on the concept now that she owns a motorcycle. Her fascination with them started before getting a bike so I think the bike satisfied that itch...not that we have ANYWHERE to put one of these behemoths.

Installed some touratech crash protection and other bits on the ‘09...install went well right until the final shear bolt which decided to somehow cross thread at about 7/8 of the way to fully tightened, not sure what happened, kind of feels like the nylock nut malfunctioned which sounds ridiculous...can’t tighten or loosen it now no matter how much force I get on it. Going to have to find a way to cut it and put a new one in.

Get her a test ride on a Can Am. More MC like, and definitely more fun!

Bought a 4th Hexhead of the year last Monday. Did the servo-ectomy last week and today was time to pull the swingarm to check the bearings, boots, splines and u-joints. This being the time doing this in about as many months I'm getting a lot more proficient at it :)

Good news is splines, u-joints and driveshaft look really good @ 42,683 miles.

I'm either going to have to find some more Honda Moly Paste 60 as I'm just about out or quit buying bikes :(

Honda Moly 60 has been discontinued quite some time ago so probability of finding it is rather slim to non-existent - you may have to quit buying bikes... :hmmmmm

Or, you can use Honda M-77 as a replacement and continue shopping...
