Hi, Yes I am a noob when it comes to events, so I had to ask what is the D2D event? I see it is held up north and you have some events... other than that why should any body come? is it like in Daytona?

Thanks for taking me into the light

    Yes, very much so. :nod

The money looks different for sure, but most everything else is black leather here, black leather there, and sometimes no leather at all. :puke

:D Just ride up and be part of it! :thumb

I'm not sure what Helikron is smoking but D2D is not like Daytona. There is no beach, just a river. I didn't see any black leather, lots of textile. There are no g-string bikinis (that you can see). Lots of night life-it's the longest day of the year so everyone is out all night. It's an unorganized dualsport ride held in Dawson City every Solstice (June 21) weekend. People just meet up there, travelers coming to or leaving Alaska, Anchorage riders getting out of town. Last year we had over 100 DS bikes and it was great. There is a big dinner, a poker run, bike games, alcohol consumption. Look for pictures in the various D2D threads and decide for yourself. Everyone is welcome. Barb

:freaky in ushuaia there is a party every Christmas through New Years (their summer) for adventure Riders that have traveled the Trans American Highway from North to South, an elite group of adventure riders. I think D2D in June is more like that for the Northern Gathering of like minded and elite Adventure riders. I guess if you travel to either you will find yourself in the company of true Motorcycle enthusiasts that ride their bikes instead of trailering them to some beach for show. On another note I will be riding over to Daytona Sunday just to look around and snap some photo's of the cool bikes and hot chicks. ( the later being the only thing missing from D2D)

Apparently there is a long standing tradition that whichever noob first asks what D2D is, buys everyone a drink. See you there.

I've ridden my bike to trailer week and to Dawson City-I've been back to Dawson not Daytona.

I live probably 3,000 miles closer to Daytona than you and I've never been and have no intention of ever going. But Trailer Week, man that would be sweeet.

You may have noticed a few cruiser type bikes parked in the street in some photos. Yep, any kind of bike can do the trip.

And even the Poker run too! A few up us were pretty impressed by these two getting up here to this spot! :brow
