In Randolph County North Carolina the sheriff's department has four HD Electra Glides. I don't see them every year, but I have seen at least some of them sometimes.

For parade duty, his holster shows a bit too much scuffing.

Here in UK it's BMW's and has been since mid 1970's, before that it was Triumph 650's. There was a short period when Norton rotaries were used in limited numbers. Where i live they get used mostly for high speed escort duty and general enforcement.

    Our cops have harleys.

I have talked to one. He is BMW curious. Someday we may go for a ride. He does not think I can keep up

I would like to know. I know the BMW can more than keep up. Can I is the question.

Yep, thats what I followed for miles yesterday. Interestingly he stayed in the left hand lane (2 lanes going east) the whole time but stayed to the right hand side of the left lane even when passing traffic. He passed so close to the cars/trucks in the right hand lane it was weird to watch.

I think my county is 60/40 Harley/BMW split, but that's like 10 bikes total. The BMWs are a relatively recent add.
