Keeps a shaded from the sun, warm to sit on in the winter, and natural, so causes less sweating than vinyl. I got it from ebay, New Zealand Sheep, I think it advertised as a doggy bed. Plus, the original seat is like siting on a 2X4". I removed the seat, layer of sheep, foam, and a Walmart seat cover. Now I shaved off a couple inches of height, and gained some insulating factors. Not for the fashionistas, not worried about what the other 99.9% think of my style. More worried about personal comfort.

I went out and checked out a recent controlled burn on the Perdido Water Management area. Looked like a nice cool burn that didn't get out of sorts.

That's a nice looking 650. How/what did you paint your cases with? Probably pulling the motor from my 600 this summer to throw in a 628 kit :evil

Moved mine out of the garage. I have some counter space in there somewhere and I'm determined to find it.

    Later the same day.
I found it. Cleared a path and there it was under crap... but now I cant find my DS...

I know it out there somewhere.

Last night I topped out the GF's KLX at 85mph going downhill. Not to bad carrying my weight.

I pulled the rear shock last night. Rebuilt it this morning and installed it. After a short test ride it SEEMS better, maybe. At least its not leaking anymore.

I repacked the rear wheel bearings while the tire was off. Now I'm noticing a howl when coasting. I guess I need to replace those too now.

After which I pulled the forks only to find they have brand new springs and fluid. The levels were un-even so I dumped it out and put new 7 wt in.

So far I've got around 200 hours of labor ( I work slow) and about 1 hour of riding on this bike. Maybe, just maybe I'll have it ready in time for the firetower 150 in AL.

next time you pick up a set of wheel bearings pop the seals Off and repack them with some decent grease. they seem to come with barely any grease and the grease That's in them suckS.

    Yep, I read about that.

BTW... in case somebody is in need of wheel bearings... Pivot Works offers a lifetime replacement on their bearing kits. I'll try them out being the OE KTM bearings didn't last long.
