Spooned on my first tubeless tire and was able to seat the bead after buying lots of extra tools and killing several innocent beers.

You might want to inspect the brakes:D. Did I talk to you on the Dragon a couple weeks ago?

I was still balancing the wheel in that pic, hence the tape on the wheel. The brake works now. :lol3

I was up there in late June with the monkey but not since.

Seat concepts comfort seat, foam and cover. Biggest improvement you can make for that bike.

It was a learning experience putting on the BB. We haven't done that before, so YouTube is extremely helpful. It was nice working on the bike together.

Colemanfu had asked about the method, and I had no clue the right terminology. Was the screw em method.

We did not have the stand for the bike to be measured properly, so we had Glenn adjust the sag. He owns a shop on Baseline. Great guy and is full of character! 20201007_143932.jpg

Rode the bike around the yard. Practicing clutch and brake. I was smiling ; It felt right. Plus, heard a hawks cry, and luckily stopped to watch it soar over the house. Yup, it's the little things.

Noticed that there was a hole in the rear tire on my DRZ. Must have happened when I was riding in the Chattahoochee back in May. I could see the tube through the hole and I’m surprised it never let loose on me. :scratch

Spooned on a trackmaster with a new tube and I’m all ready for the Turkey Trot next month :ricky.

Opening day at the Moto Farm!

It was hot hot but fun to fly again. Track days are vastly different than my summer spent on the single. My preference is woods but helmet time is helmet time and it's fun to hang with the guys.

I felt like I was at the same point as I finished up last spring. Cleared all the jumps without hesitation. So much of this MX shit is from the neck up.

If you've ever been on a Wanker ride you know what's about to happen. This poor groomer filed a grievance on my with the union. Soft cock!

You are riding the 2 smoke with no big learning curve? Or did you keep the 500?

I have been working on and off on a 73 Husky 250 for the better part of 2 years. It had some mystery transmission issue where it wouldn't shift. After a long time of research, I accumulated a ton of parts to upgrade the transmission. I split the cases a year ago to discover one part had been JB welded, and when I did split the cases, a spring shot out and hit me in the eye. No where on the parts diagram could I locate this random spring, so I chucked it up someone trying to make a mod for the sloppy shifting action and it went horribly wrong.

All during this, I had a Hayne's manual that didn't have a ton of info on the transmission outside "just don't separate the gears" and how to reinstall it. Somewhat by accident, I finally scored a Husqvarna manual for it and lo and behold, there was a section on the "gear selector wheel detent mechanism" and the “shifting drum ratchet sleeve” that mounts from the bottom of the case. I looked and noticed that a) someone tried to take out the bolt that housed the spring and b) I went through a ton of trials and parts searching in a hot warehouse in the summer all because a $0.19 spring was removed and reinstalled incorrectly.

The good news is once I put it back together it'l be much better than it was in 1973, bad news is I was dumb enough to overlook that small bit, or at least the Hayne's manual was dumb enough to leave that part and the parts diagram for it out.

The new 300 is strictly a woods machine. I may bring the 2 stroke to the track a single time to let the fellas check it out but I'm sticking with the 500 for this MX shit. In effort to prepare the big 500, I did yank the 3lb headlight, kickstand, and rear rack to lighten it up. After I got home from Idaho I pulled the pool noodles out and put in the tubes as well as the dedicated rear MX33 sand tire.

    Here’s the vid!

John had recommended it years ago but I hadn't been. Great food and great service with a view of the water! Not a bad way to escape MIA.
