    Well a tank bag is a bag that sits on top of your tank filled full of crap you probally dont need and some of them have a clear map pocket so if you need to look at your map you can. With out getting it out.

    yeah I know..just messin with ya while trying to be a smart ass..sorry..:rofl dont have a tank bag on any of my bikes..the tanks I have are too vertical and tall for a tank bag..I do have fender bags tho, thats where the spare tubes are kept..I know many folks will keep maps, cell phones, pistols, lipstick, a towel and wash rag and anything else they want..

    Snack (trail mix, jerky, etc.), ear plugs, bungee net, buff, helmet liner (if not worn), spare fuses, leatherman tool, insurance card, camera, LED headlamp, (iPod, amplifier & cords, remote), 3' retractable cable lock, sunscreen, carmex, 2nd pr. of gloves (depending on weather)...

    Generally the stuff I need to get to more often.

    YMMV, IMHO, FYI, etc.... :lol3

    my tank bag carries, spare tubes, tools, air pump, gps, some beef jerky, sunglasses, and beer.

    I need a bigger tank bag ( for more beer)

    It gets fulla all kinds a stuff. Sometimes I clean it out especially when the suntan lotion bottle breaks and leaks into my bag of GORP. Then I start over adding stuff to it. And the cycle repeats. :norton

    Lipstick would melt in the tank bag!!! Lip gloss is a better choice. That, plus a scrunchie, water, phone, SPOT, money and cards, is all that will fit in the tank bag I have.

    I carry just about everything in mine. Extra tube, patch kit, airpump, first aid kit, Motrin, Pistol, Camp hammer (i.e. window buster), jacket liner, water bladder (built in), cold weather gear right now, extra socks, backup glasses, sunglasses, phone charger, universal adapter, flashlight, condiments, scotch guard, wd-40, etc...

    Then there's my tail bag. :evil Got a fender bag shipping right now. Will put my tube and patch kit in there.[​IMG]

    Well, I did have a small marsee mag tank bag before dumbing out and losing it on the road. I have a large one for travel.
    Main items are camera, water, sidestand disk, ear plugs.
    Tailbag contains flat fixing stuff, rain gear, maps, etc.
