The next one will be my biggest this year. I'm flying to Seattle to be picked up and taken to my cousin's house in Bellvue. She's been storing my '81 XV920 since I rode it there at the end of '09.
After serviceing the bike I'll head west to Port Angeles to ferry over to Vancouver Island. After a look around I turn east and ferry to the mainland ,then north to Whistler ,east to Kamloops, south to Idaho, east to North Dakota, south again through S.D., Neb.,Kan.,Ok.,Tx. to Mexico to see the dentist in Neuvo Progresso.
Then home to Ky. , stopping for a nice meal in NOLA and to see my daughter in Tn. on the way.

All that and I envy wheatwhacker's ability to take two months to ride to Panama. Being on the road is the best place for me.

Yep, I'll have my spot up and running. The ride report thing I'm not so good at. Facebook seems so much easier to upload a photo to and write comments as you ride.
Your welcome to join on my facebook as the time gets closer.

This coming Thursday I am meeting inmate, JUNIOR650 and we are heading north to the ill/wis border to the trail head of the TWAT (Trans Wisconson Adv Trail). We plan on 5 days of gravel/dirt/sand and as little paved roads as possible and hope to camp the entire trip. I will be on a DR650, JUNIOR650 on his KLR650 and expect we will tally up 1500-1700 miles on the trip. Look for the ride report following our return form the Nort Woods.

I am headed from California to Panama on Dec 21st. I will cross at San Luis Rio Colorado and visit Creel before heading further south. In Mexico I would like to stay in the mountains for the most part, but if the weather gets bad I may drop down to route 200 and do the Mexican Riviera drive.

I only have 3 weeks, but I will be leaving my bike in Costa Rica for 2 - 3 months before riding back. The anticipation is building...

I plan on going back to the D2D next summer with a buddy. Then ride up the Dempster to Inuvik. From there possibly sneek into Alaska, if not, down the Cassier and into Hyder just to say I can....lol then back home ......can't wait!!:freaky

I have only done short trips so far, but I'm in the beginning stages of planning a big one: The British Isles.

I hope to go in the summer of 2014 (I know its a long way off, but its gonna be expensive). So far, two couples are committed to making the trip, but we may get more interested before then.

The plan is to fly into London and rent a Triumph Tiger XC 800 for each couple (when in the UK...) We will then make a clockwise loop through Ireland, Scotland, and England. We will explore local pubs, castles, and as much country as we can fit into our allotted time.
    [IMG][IMG]

After that, we will either return the rentals, or load them onto a ferry for the Isle of Man. I would like to have bikes while on the Isle, so we can explore the "green lanes", and travel to the various sections of the TT race (that will be going on when we arrive). After the race, we will make our way back to London for our flight back to the USA.

Some things I still need to work out:
    1. Do rental bikes come with luggage racks?
    2. Can rental bikes leave England and travel to Ireland and IOM?
    3. How far in advance must I reserve IOM accommodations during the TT race?
    4. Once I've tasted pub ale fresh from the tap, will I be able to return to the USA?:cry

I rented an r1200GS from Celtic Rider in Dublin last June and rode it to Italy. They are good people and the whole thing was hassle free.
