Texas is proud to say it's the "Republic of Texas". With all the loss of freedoms we're facing as so-called US citizens, their isolationist attitude doesn't seem so far out anymore.

If any Northern state had experienced "Sherman's March to the Sea" as happened in the Civil War, they would have an attitude too. Read your history, and not just what's in the school books. Abe Lincoln and Ulysses S Grant raped and pillaged a huge part of their own country. It was genocide on a large scale. The native Americans weren't the only ones who suffered under the US gov before the year 1900. Thousands of freed slaves and African Americans who had never been slaves, some of who owned business in the south were killed by "our" government. My great-great grandfather's best friend was beheaded by Sherman's troops in Georgia. He was black. His family watched him die. Mine and your government did that. It was standard policy. When you see the bumper stickers with Rebel flags which say: "We''ll never forget", there is a valid reason why. You better pay attention. It could happen to you. Think about it. (Yes, I support the NRA).

West Texas is a gorgeous place to visit.

Off-road riding is primo in several places in Texas.

We Arkies usually beat Texas in football, not that we play much anymore.

Texas is better in every way than the socialist state of California. I ain't gonna start bashing Texas until Cali falls into the ocean.
