per gallon. I live in the exact middle of Fly-Over-Land central Nebraska. Not as desolate as the Central Desert in your land, but we can imagine it from here.

Gallon, liters are too metric like for folks over here.

and fwiw that was the only gas station on a mountain pass.

when things are 'normal' around here I usually pay 3.20-3.75 for premium (91-92)depending on how close I am to a decent sized city. And that's at Shell or Chevron.

buying 4 gallons at a time I really don't care how much I pay, spending an extra Token or 2 in a small Community is a good thing imo.

I've been paying around 2.60 for unleaded (87 iirc) at am-pm (convenience store chain) in my 4Runner

Shinko 805? Yeah, I removed the same (and the prematurely cupped 804 up front) from my Suzuki DR650 well before their end-of-life.

The 805 provided excellent straight-line traction when hooked up, and great road manners. However, it allowed way too much lateral movement off road in anything more than hardpack. Pucker, indeed.

I now have a set of Metzler Karoo 3s installed. A bit less confidence-inspiring on the tarmac, but very meaty and bitey in the loose stuff.

Got to get out for a soft opening weekend of Willville Bike Camp in Meadows of Dan, VA, just off the Blue ridge Parkway. About 10 like minded riders showed up. Social distancing was observed and all had a good time. Boss Monkey and I showed up Friday morning and came back today. Boy did we (I) need it. Great facility and host. :clap IMG_20200515_194421900.jpg IMG_20200515_200729406.jpg IMG_20200516_103100879_HDR.jpg Mabry Mill on the BRP

Decided I could start posting in this thread a bit, probably ruinating it.

Took my outfit out for a short test drive today. Pretty happy with the handling honestly, feeling good about it. I paused in a wildlife refuge, which has a nice scenic gravel loop you can ride around, and look at the deer and the eagles. It's an Eagle sanctuary, and lots nest there. Makes for a fun distraction, plus there are some nice walking trails, again letting you look at the various wildlife.

It's overcast today, so a bit dreary, but made for a very nice ride out.

Home of Red Wing Boots and formerly Red Wing pottery !

The ones labeled Red Wing are still mostly built here though they have trouble finding enough help, the Irish Setters are imported. There's a local store Walt's shoe service that can still get you factory seconds but they are not real cheap.

A good friend of mine from New Ulm was married to one of the Redwing heirs. Divorced. He got Alzheimer’s at 59. In a home now, nothing left of him.

Jill and I took a ride to the Savanna army depot just north of Savanna IL. A former army test range ( during WW1), bomb and shell production facility (WWII and Vietnam war), and now an industrial park and nature preserve. We took some back roads on the way home and went through Loran IL home of the Slurp and Burp. 20200522_115338.jpg 20200522_114912.jpg 20200522_150215.jpg
