Yeah you flogged that b@#$
That is the only way to ride!
You talkin' to me?
Did that FF ever show up?
Greetings from the Team Pterodactyl Southern Command HQ. Arrived this afternoon and had a lovely dinner with Griz, Sherri, Mark and Melissa. Took a ride up the canyon this afternoon in 75 degree temps....absolutely stunning. Thanks to Mark for the R100RT loaner.
It's been quite a trip....a good one thus far. Picked up Friar's lift in Indy along with some other shop goodies and Cabela's staples. I overnighted in Mitchell, SD last night. They have a huge Cabellas store which I hit first thing this morning. Bucked a really good head-wind all the way into Spearfish. No worries though, arrived safe and sound to Griz and Sherri's abode and wonderful hospitality.
I'm overwhelmed....finally familiar faces after all these months...feels great. Appreciate the posts. It will be good to get back to the homestead. Fite, bigger bird still has a place of honor in the garage if she is ever in need of service. Motomama....can't wait to give you a big ole hug! Thanks for riding pilot for Fighter into Dawson City. He'd been away for so long, he needed you to run point as Griz so aptly pointed out.
Get ready for a ho-down at the Clubhaus sometime in early November. I've got some re-organizing to do tomorrow. Great way point....good friends and good times. A very grateful homecoming....
sweeeeeeeeeeet party time :slurp :dg
Play that Funky Music Bike Boy!
Will be good to see Katoomer again (and all the rest as well)
Well, Griz did his sticky thing this morning so there was a posting ceremony. Getting organized today.....down day from the road. Feels good to just relax now that the shop equipment is loaded and safely stowed for the trip home. All of it is riding very well...no shifting.
I don't have any pictures to share just yet. I've still got my pics on thumb drives and will download later. The van is working good and the back is set up nicely as a bed. Got one of those air mattresses that Fighter recommended...works great.
Griz and I went for a romp up Keystone canyon yesterday, it was just what the Doctor ordered! Temp was 70 degrees. I thought I'd taken my last ride of the season in June.....that was until Mark lent me his R100RT...awesome bike and great fun on a great road. Nice to see it again without being quagged with HDs. Last time the P-Team rode it was in 2003 and it was a parade. Much nicer this time.
More to follow.....
There better be, YFF! And soon! With pix too.
Keep us posted.
Hey, I don't remember loanin out my Beemer. Besides, it's an "S" model. Oh wait, you mean there's more than one "Mark" around here?
Hard to believe that you're FINALLY back on U.S. soil. Most excellent!
Glad to hear you're having a good time while makin your way back home.
Take care, have fun, Mark H.
WELCOME HOME KATOOM!!!! Glad that you are back safe, and getting some well deserved riding in!!!!
What is your schedule Katoomer?
We will be on the ferry from Bellingham on the evening of the second. Are you driving the AlCan?
Hey Gus, still in Spearfish. Did some re-organizing of the trailer and secured the shop equipment....should be good to go for the haul north. Took a short ride today with Mark on his RT. 70 degrees here and a beautiful fall day.
Fighter, Griz has got an official team hat that he's just registered for you. Says I have to haul it north for you and snap a pic. Great talking to you today.....I'm having a great time with the Pterodactyl gang here. It's kind of nice to have several bikes to share with friends when they drop in.....would like to return the favor when this crew travels to the GWN next time. Well, Fite, this one is for you buddy. The "Blackwater" van is ready.
Keep your head up and we'll see you soon. Fite
Here's one of just the van. I'm not used to Griz's software so it's a little dicey to get the photos the right size and resolution. Working on it though...
WE HAVE BENN RIDING AROUND IN THE "GRAYWATER SPECIAL" AKA T-REX FOR THE LAST FEW DAYS...THE LOOKS FROM PEOPLE ARE GREAT...THEY JUST CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT...THE POLICE ESCORTS TO LUNCH ARE FUN TOO, AND TODAY WE PULLED UP TO THE ATM JUST AS A BANK ROBBERY WAS GOING DOWN. THE THEIVES CAME RUNNING OUT, SAW US, AND SURRENDERED...COOL! WE SPENT THE MORNING REARRANGING THE TRAILER AND GETTING SHIT PROPERLY TIED DOWN AND ...TO MAKE MORE ROOM FOR JUST ONE MORE LITTLE ITEM (SORRY I AM SWORN TO SECRECY):eek1 TOMORROW WE ARE GOING TO RIDE ON THE RUNNING BOARDS, WITH SOCK CAPS ON, THROUGH DEADWOOD...I CAN HARDLY WAIT! (VIDEO AND POLICE REPORT TO FOLLOW.)

Griz.. do you know if he purchased a phone???
Katoomer......got a message from Meloni.
Steve from your Anchorage office is trying to get ahold of you.
NOT A JOKE! Sounds urgent. You need to call me ASAP. Fite
Motomamma patiently awaiting that big hug
Greetings from the 202 Motor Inn in Whitehorse. Tried to reach Dick and Joanne but only was able to leave a message. Sounds like they're moving. Anyway, trip has been good so far. Been sleeping in the van so I thought I'd pull in for a rest stop at the 202 and some pasta at Georgios.
Fite, I called Steve Boardman and left a message (2). I'll call him when he returns to the office tomorrow. Can't reach Meloni....my phone has mysteriously been disconnected. It was set up on auto pay so I don't know what the problem is. I would like to let her know that I should be in Tuesday. Couldn't reach Ace and my Trac phone doesn't seem to be picking up any towers north of the 60th parallel. If you can get word to her I would sure appreciate it.
Griz, thanks for the SD hospitality. I owe you, Mark and Sherri when you return to the GWN. The equipment tie down has been perfect. Nothing has shifted and all I do is re-check the straps once in a while. Thanks Griz!
Anyway, making my way slowly home......looking forward to seeing everyone next weekend. Number here is 867-668-4567, room #213.
