I'm in town for a conference and don't have plans yet for dinner. I need something within easy walking distance of the Hyatt Riverwalk and I prefer something local, something not touristy, and something I can't have elsewhere. Suggestions? :ear

Go here for lunch every two weeks or so, delicious food, good service. Yes, I know it's past your time, but for future reference, it's probably 1/2 a mile away from the riverwalk.

I like the little restaurant on the end of the new section of the riverwalk. I can't remember the name? Nice and quiet, good food and away from the crowds of downtown. Good parking too at the Pearl Brewery. I dislike big cities but love downtown S.A.

I'm actually still here so I appreciate the suggestions. Anyone ever been to Schilo's Deli? Looks like an interesting place.

Hey is this the place with the great, different flavored Margaritas?! My stepson graduated from Trinity last year and he took us over there for the Margaritas. Didn't even eat. Just drank the Margarita. It was great!

    I don't know, I stick to the Micheladas. :D

@Ridestrong, how long are you in town for? My bike might be back together in time to grab a real dinner. Could even get you over to Rudy's, or that other place. Don't remember the name, but they serve mean food.:lol3

Cool place. An institution in town.

German home cooking. I like it.

I've been there once, but I'm sure it would have been better if we had had a competent waiter, and our "chauffeur" hadn't gotten lost... several times. :lol3

I ended up having breakfast there twice, very good potato pancakes, eggs, bacon, etc., and a really cool atmosphere. Damn cute tattooed woman running the cash register too, but I didn't get any pictures. :lol3
