    G'day guys and gals

I'm asking where to drive/ride/explore in Texas because my friend Kelly, Editor of Flashing Swords fanatsy magazine just informed me that she would love to get out and explore more...but that apparently 90% of her state of Texas is privately owned land?:eek1

I was somewhat shocked by that.
I right away began to wonder where you local Texican's went adventure/trail biking?

If any of you would be so kind as to list scenic country places that one can drive or ride to, perhaps off the beaten track, places that people not into adventure biking might be unaware of, I will pass the info along to Kelly.

    Cheers: Jaq.

    Hey Jaq,

Gunna shift this to Central which is prolly more appropriate for Tejas.

What part of the state does she live in? Since Texas is just a little bit smaller than Australia, it would give us an idea of where to direct her.

Lots of good stuff in Ride Texas magazine.

I haven't explored the website, but usually read the mag at Barnes and Noble. Articles every issue about rides and places to see.

    Kelly lives in Saginaw TX.

I'll past the TX Ride magazine info onto her also.

    Thanks: Jaq.

More like 95%, but who is counting.

Saginaw is a suburb of Fort Worth.

The area north and west of her is a good area to start with. We ride in that area a lot. There is a mix of gravel and asphalt, depending on the wealth of the individual county.

FM4 from Palo Pinto to Lone Camp is worth the ride and always rates high in Ride Texas.

The area south and west of her is also fertile ground, around Granbury and Glen Rose. I have ridden many thousands of miles in the area on my bicycle as well as bike and cage.

There is a great winery just north of Bluffdale that is worth the visit, if she likes wine. http://www.bluffdalevineyards.com/ Well worth a day.

The Koffee Kup in Hico serves great pie and there is a place across the street full of chocolate.

Oh oh. She already had a thread on her sci-fi forum about how to make different kinds of foods with chocolate as an additive.:lol3

    Thanks for the info mate.

I shall pass this along to her.
