I have ridden some in SW MS, SE MS, & Central MS. I hope to say one day, I have rideen all corners of the state, and all areas in between. Some here can pretty much say that.
Maybe this thread will start other threads, that will help, acheive my goal.
Where would some of you like to ride?
Maybe some here have ridden the area, and can provide a interesting route.
Even better, a group ride in your area would be fun.
I would like to ride in the SW corner of the State. The Woodville,MS area. I have ridden there once, on my own. I want to do it again. It is much like the Port Gibson area, as for terrain, and Old Roads.
Is there someone in SW MS, that could provide a great route, ideas, or want to lead some of us on a ride?
This is on my short list of places. But I am open to other areas.
What are you all's thoughts, on the subject?

Hahaha. You have some great places to ride out west, no doubt about it. I have loved it everytime I've gone.

As for where I want to ride in MS, I've been looking at some roads around Tishimingo and trying to put a route together that is worth the ride up.

My favrite areas are the rolling hills and curvy dirt roads along the MS river; Woodville, Rodney, Rolling Fork, etc... Love getting out into the middle of nowhere on those levee roads and abandoned towns, abandoned roads and railways.

North Central has some good stuff around Holly Springs Nat'l Forest but no "legal" trails, plenty of gravel on and all around the TAT.

I want to go explore the area around Rodney and the river more.

I also want to go ride the levees and more up around Satartia / Rolling Fork / Holly Bluff and back down towards V'burg.

I want to keep working on my route from Brandon over towards Meridian and the gravel roads I know south of there for a group ride in the future.

Would not mind making a run down to the coast, just to say I've been there.

And plenty of small towns, backroads, gravel roads, historic sites, etc all over the state!

I've been riding every weekend and commuting to work every chance I get. I've only had a bike since May or June, give me chance! :lol3

Whine whine whine... Bet you wouldn't even get it dirty. :lol3 I still laugh when I think about where you rode that bike with 30 or 50 (or what ever) miles on it. :clap Must be nuts to ride places like that.

These are great ideas. As soon as i get a GPS. I hope to get some routes together.
When I do, we'll have to get together, and ride some of the area.
    Tishomingo Co.?
    Whats the terrain like?
Interesting returns on the thread. Keep it coming.

"Dewalt" is a member here that lives near Liberty, MS. He is a great guy and has more than a few miles under his belt. I'm sure he could point you towards the good roads in the SW area. He lead me and his dad on a nice ride one day after helping install some farkles. :thumb

I second (or third or whatever...) a Tishomingo ride at some point. Some really pretty country up that way.

What do you mean "wouldn't even get it dirty" ?! Did you see where Peaches took us last weekend? I just washed the mud off today. Only the 2nd or third time it's been washed! :)

I've got a little green gps in my head.

I can point you to so many great roads in the Wilk/Amite area, but I'd rather ride them with you.

But deer and ducks have my attention for the next several weekends.

A late winter ride (mid-end Feb.) will be nice, shoot me a PM.:thumb

Once I get my hands on a Good DS (hopefully in about a month) Anticyclone and I are gonna look into planning a dirt/gravel route to head up to NE MS. We should make a ride out of it, if it all works out.

I want to be a part of that. I cleaned up my new [to me] drz400s yesterday and found no visible issues except it needs new tires. I am north of ya'll so maybe I can scout some roads to ride on up towards the Tishomingo/Bay Springs area.
