I became one with nature as well, I respected the law of survival of the fittest, and the helped out the natural order of the food chain ( I came out on top).

Thanks for the idea on the Kettle Morain. We went yesterday and did the Kettle Morain Scenic Drive. It was great!

I learnt something from those smart fellers that are Chicago Firemen. No pics and no video, no troubles.

Fireman and I played hookey from work yesterday and had a great time riding up Nort of the Cheddar curtain. We gingerly rode the twisties and beautiful area around Kettle Moraine. I wish we would have had more time to spend up there and the roads were a squat dryer, but that didn't stop us from having a lot of fun. We stopped a cool place called 'The Elegent Farmer' for snacks and water in Muckwanago, WI and then did a bit of trails from there until it ended at Rt 43. We headed back for the superslab and rode on home. Got in the door right as it was getting dark in Lake County, and that is a good thing as the deer are very active around here right now, and they don't carry a license to run.

Good thing Skinner got a couple, too bad they were about 400 miles away.

May is a bit early to head to alaska. I tried a few years back and the snow was still pretty thick in the canadian rockies. All the passes were icy as hell. Try july and august maybe.

This for sure is a place I want to ride to! I'm thinking it's a 4 week (3) trip from here in Illinois. Whenever I get around to going I hope to take one of those Alaskan boats that run from either Washington State or British Columbia on the way up or the return trip.

    I'd be riding a KLR

Mackinaw River Valley in Central IL from Lake Bloomington to Mackinaw, November 14. It was the best riding I've found close to home (Cerro Gordo) to date. I turns out that the river cuts through four glacial end moraines, which is part of what made it a good putt. I didn't take many pics as light is short this time of the year. I did have a surprise meeting with a farmer I know on this trip.

There are a few photos here:

    Hey SS, we are neighbors.
The Mackinaw Rivere Valley offer some great day trips. You can tie it into what I call the Salt Creek Bluffs, Panther Creek Loop, then its an easy jump across the river at Beardstown to some great riding on the West side Illinois River Bluffs either North or South. Some very interesting gravel routes as well.
    Still got
    the xr650r?

    cheers

    Hey Chain,

I'm going to Peoria today to run a Turkey Trot at 1:00pm. May bring the KLR, any chance you want to ride a couple of hours, maybe from 2-4?
