I'm takin the piss here... No offence intended!
I sent a message to Misery Goat a couple of weeks ago but never got a reply. It is even in the forum rules he wrote. The differences (technical and riders) between the 9x0 and 790 are too big to be on one pile.
technical sure,, but the riders? what do you mean?
New bike: more discussion about farkles and teething problems. But you are right, the technical differences are more important.
He means the dirtbike racer crowd and the seated, outriggers out crowd need to be separated.
You’ve gotta decide which is which.
Probably the same place the 690 Enduro subforum is... a single thread with 15,000 pages buried in a generic forum somewhere. "Orange Crush" should include all the major classes of KTM bikes. What possible harm is there in making information logically assembled like that?
Riders of other brands will cry favoritism in absolute outrage.
Not much of a difference. But the 790 rider will have his/her pinky sticking out when drinking . Wait! I’m still in line for a 790! Yeah, there’s no difference
Thats what a mean, no difference in riders with an equal distribution on both bikes
How about a dirtbike rider that stays on the pegs but doesn’t race.
Trying to add another class, not outriggers out.
we really need different platforms here!!!! the 790s have nothing to to with the OG ADV cool guy bikes!!!!!!!!
Dawn is now and the end is nigh.
I think the whole forum needs a good revamping for sections. It's nearly impossible to find relevant information because some threads are literally hundreds of pages long. some are fine that way (local forums, trip reports, gps sections, etc) but there should be some logical orientation. Ideally something like this:
790/890 bikes (yes, they will have an 890 version at some point soon)
Single Cylinder bikes (KTM and Husky)
690/701 subforum within since it doesn't share much with the "little bikes"/200/250/300/350/450/500
I like to read what is being developed for the 790 but when it comes to actually searching for info, knowing what someone has done to their 790 doesn't help me at all on my 950 SE. AFAIK nothing besides the rear wheel and front tires is compatible.
A 790 sub forum? Yuuuuuuuuupp!
Yup, totally agree. The "catch all" fora like Thumpers etc should be for every bike BUT the majors. I wish I had access to the metrics because I bet that 75%+ of the bike related discussion/traffic is confined to the major makes
I brought it up in a formal way and was unceremoniously shot down. Might help if we get some more voices.
