For the past few years my friends and I have done the COBDR twice, the UTBDR and the AZBDR. Last summer I created my own route through CO and WY with very mixed results.

This summer I would like to do something not further away than Jackson Hole WY as a starting point. I've been intrigued with finding something pre-mapped around the black hills of SD or anywhere in MT. So far no luck.

Is there anything you all can recommend?

I don't know if they are necessarily more difficult, but they go different places.

I do know that both my Northern Route and my Southern Route have a big bike friendly main route with optional side routes that are more difficult - some of them much more difficult.

Unlike North/Southern the GWT & PCQ are advanced rider Dual Sport main routes with optional side routes for Adv bikes and a few very difficult Single Track optional Hard ways.

The BDRs are all designed for average riders on Adv bikes

Go to dakotaadventureloop.com and you will find a figure 8 loop thru the west side of South Dakota. The box loop is available for downloading.
