    Can you clarify
"phone is connected to the tot"
    You mean tft?
    "the TFT works"
You mean it gives turn by turn? So you are running Waze with a destination? (or in 'follow' mode?)

And during all this your Connected app is off?
You may need to check, as I see my Connected app often self starts and searches for the bike soon as I switch on BT.

Yes tot = tft with auto correct interfering.

Connect app is not on. I use waze with my destination plugged in on my phone which sits in a cradle connected to the gps mount.
Regarding the tft turn by turn piggybacking off waze, I’ve only tried it once. I hate the turn by turn on the tft. It’s awful. So I just use waze.

Tested it again today. I was getting turn by turn nav on the TFT and the only app I had open was Waze.

    Interesting!
I have run Connected and Copilot at the same time; I wonder if I shut off connected if the TFT would show directions from Copilot...

Tested the set up with the "BMW Connected" app disabled again today and everything worked as it should. I am going to updated the "Connected" team as to the findings. Something with their app is causing the problem.

I use the Connected app for navigation all the time with a Pixel 3A phone and a Sena SMH5 headset and don't have problems. It doesn't seem to matter what order the devices are turned on in for them to work.

Not to be Captain Obvious but do you have the phone media volume up all the way? I always turn my volume down and forget to turn it back up.

Yes, I made that mistake once and will never forget again.

Never rule out the obvious right?

I prefer to say it the way my uncle used to, "always fix the easy stuff first".

That's an ID-ten-T error. Done it too.

Curiously, my setup has been working remarkably well the last month. I had issues with getting the music to start on my phone and the BMW app started tracking again. I think it has to do with a recent android update on my phone making things more compatible somehow.

Same here my setup has been working as it is supposed to for about a month now... I think the connected team has finally figured things out...

But unless you've gotten your bike software updated a month ago, wouldn't it be on the Android or device side of things?
With the speed at which all this moves, it's got to be difficult for any manufacturer to ensure compatibility and all functionality...

Thats what I bought last year. Already had a Zumo 395 that's suppose to act as a hub with my iPhone. The music controls on the GPS work for a day or two each spring then stop working for the rest of the year. I have to power up in this order iPhone, GPS, Sena for everything to sync. If one doesn't it will never repair itself. And I need to make a phone call before the music will play in my helmet. WTF

The hub should be the TFT the phone gets connected to the TFT and the Sena gets connected to the TFT the GPS gets connected to the headset but you need to turn off the phone and media in the GPS and allow the TFT to take over those controls.

It is on the Phone side... The BMW Connected app on the phone has been updated several times in the past few months every update to the app seems to make the connectivity work better and more reliably.
