Like the families in behind me. Strange lot. Related families living on the same property. One cousin didnt even know he had 2 second cousins. I alerted him to the fact.
G'Day fellow Aussies, Sorry for the lack of updates, but we were flat out with our travelling Veterans counselling services, and not had a lot of WiFi opportunities until tragedy struck us down at Sarina in QLD. We were hold up in Adelaide for 6 months until we made a break for QLD in late July, We picked up some part time work in Cairns, and were on our way there when a drugged up idiot in a 4 x 4 rammed the side of our Fifth Wheel writing it off, As you can appreciate, these things just can't be purchased down the corner store (It took 2 years to set this one up) We have managed to skull drag it up to a beautiful Caravan Park at Sarina, and have put it on blocks and made the inside livable until we can source/import/modify another Fifth Wheel and get going again. I have managed to find a great job in the mining industry up here, and have just bought a new T7 (Red/White) to start looking around on a bike again. RIP the PHOENIX I feel bad that there are more Veterans out there that we didn't get the chance to meet.
That's no good Lofty. I hope that you can get the repairs done and can continue with your visits to the Veterans.
She can't be repaired, those 12" I beams are twisted like a pretzel, and the 5.6 Ton axles are S bends
Save up, and find another one to import/convert/get going again. There are worse places to be stranded than Northern QLD
Hi @LOFTYBOB ,good to hear from you again, although the circumstances could be better! How's the T7? Doing the trick?
I’m angry for you! What total crap. Sorry about this happening but I commend you for your positive outlook. @hunter_greyghost sorry about your nephew being a pill.
A great few of us here know exactly how and what he feels. I'm one of the lucky ones that the first meds I was put on, after a few weeks worked really well and continue to after 12 years without side effects, as if they were made specially for me. You Are Not Alone
From your photos...well thats all fixible. The axles do not look like pretzles mate. Seems from the underside view that the springs are still in place . Not ripped out. Hangers look to be still in position thou not happy. That wobbly stuff under the floor. Is that insalation. It looks like some sort of corflute. Im reasonably sure a good quality repair is cheaper than faffing about on a new build. The van I fixed last month hit a grid and the fencing after a total front axle let go. It came to us with not one bit of undercarriage. No springs, hangers rockers, water tank, dunny outlet or side step. Rear rack was stuffed inside. We fixed it. Lofty if you want to investigate repair then perhaps send me a PM. No promises but an offer to help. Cheers
Still can't believe it with the arrival yesterday of a brand new 9lb 1oz grand daughter. First daughter for any male on my husband's side of the family in 58 years. Will be strange after my four sons, and two grandsons with a pink one joining our family.
