    Miguel,

That's the problem: I don't know! I keep hearing that the black plastics are indeed available in Canada, but I don't have a clue how to get my hands on the parts.

There seem to be a few Canadian DR owners even in this thread! But none are replying to the question. I think there are several folks on the board who would be interested in getting the black parts.

I've seen this black plastics question come up a few times, but no one ever gets an answer. I thought I'd keep pushing for more info.

Mine has the basics for touring: Corbin, IMS, heated grips, gps, and I just got the happy trails racks today (not pictured) with ortlieb dry bags. The deathwings are on by choice for the road riding I've been doing lately. I have a few others to swap (606s and 270s)

I'll try to find out. There was a dealer in, I think, London, Ontario, (Inglis Cycle, maybe), that a lot of U.S. V-Strom riders were getting stuff from before it was available stateside, (luggage, IIRC).

I ordered a replacement side numberplate at my local speed shop and they had the black version on the microfiche. It appeared that I would've been able to order it, but I just ordered another white one.
You will need to go to a place with a competent parts counter person (that rules out dealers), preferably that will let you look at the fiche yourself. We were looking around to figure out the difference between several parts listed and he had to look them up on the computer to try to figure it out, but the black parts were listed there. If you don't have anyone local to help you, you could try Motorcycle Performance ( http://motorcycleperf.com ) which is the shop I go to here in Madison.

    Great thread.

Here's how my '05 looked this past summer. I've changed and added some things, so I'll try to get a current picture of it tomorrow.

    Here it is loaded.[IMG]

Everything is loaded on this rack. The toolkit is under the rack because there's a scottoiler mounted in the usual toolkit location.

Here's my effort for the DR650 thread.

The bike is a 2003 DR650 with the following mods/accessories:
    Clarke tank
    IMS foot pegs
    Fat bars and adapter/riser
    Polisport headlight
    HEL brake lines
    heavier fork springs
Dynojet kit with 170 main, drilled slide, airbox opened and Unifilter fitted
    Staintune pipe (full system)
    Barkbuster hand guards
aftermarket rear indicators and Ducati Monster front indicators
14/44 gearing (for dirt) and 16/41 for supermoto setup
17 inch supermoto wheels with Aussie Disc brakes and Conti tyres
    Dual Star mirror
    Trailtech speedo
    bash plate
Several brackets cut off (sidestand switch removed and bracket cut)
Overall weight loss approx. 13-15kgs (including pipe)

Yeah, I noticed that. Problem is, I don't know how to go about getting the black parts. Didn't have any part numbers or anything.

But since then, I found some info on thumpertalk.
    63113-32E10-019 $60.43 Rear Fender
    51811-32E00-019 $61.31 Front Fairng
    53111-13E00-019 $58.96 Front Fender
    47111-32E00-019 $68.50 Frame cover R
    47211-32E00-019 $68.50 Frame cover L

There was some discussion about the rear fender no longer being available.

Miguel, I know it would be a huge PIA, but would you mind asking your local dealer about those part numbers? If it's too much trouble, I'd completely understand. Hell, I hate talking to my local dealership; they're terrible.

But I totally love this Buell dual headlight idea. I'm definitely going to do this at some point.

I was just gonna chime in that I worked at a parts counter for 21 yrs and remembered that the code for black parts on any Suziki is the 3 digit suffix "019" Try having a dealer put that code on the parts you want in black and see if they can order it. Drop and other 3 digit code that is on there which is the 3 for white, yellow blue etc.

Both ver's of your scoot are badass! Those Suzuki stickers on the plastic tank, are they fuel proof? Are they holding up? If so, where did you get them?

    This thread rules!

Yater, nice! Are you using RAM mounts for your GPS? If so, which base ball mount did you use? thanks..

I'm not sure I know what the hell that means. Yes, that's a ram mount. I got it on a last minute overnight whim from cycloactive the day before a trip. I don't remember having a choice of "base ball". It uses the U-bolts to fasten to the bars. Customer service from cycloactive is top notch by the way....and the ram mount has been flawless (even after several ghost rides in the ozarks)

I just did a search for these parts at BikeBandit.
The rear fender and front fairing came up as discontinued.
    The rest are still available.
