Oh! And on separate note, I have a new tenant from Boston that is moving down to NC and I just got the security deposit to rent my house and they plan to move in on June 1 so with 2 homes occupied, I could leave a lot sooner!

I have added the 511 Alaska app to my iPhone. It's pretty cool!

What are the recommendations for making reservations? I prefer to be flexible rather than be in a constant rush to make the next stop.

Maybe our path will cross when I travel north and you travel south. I'm planning to travel near the coast when I am traveling southbound so I could visit Crate Lake, Redwood, and few parks in CA before deciding if doing Baja or not.

Sounds great. I'll be on the F250GS (I put BMW badges on my WR :-)

That would be a G250GS Tewster. BMW thumpers are G bikes. I like your style. Enjoy your trip.

Ride safe. I've been on the road for three weeks and there seems to be a storm just swirling around here in the west. Lots of rain but great camping and people.

For ferry rides, are tie downs must or nice to have ? I am thinking of taking ferry from Haines to Prince Rupert.

YEss you should take at least two of them. Sometimes they have tie downs on the ferries, but being prepared is best. I'm taking two cargo buckles with me..leaving Prince Rupert on July 14th for Port Hardy.

    Thanks.

Btw, I have heard taking a ferry from Price Rupert to Port Hardy means skipping the most scenic riding in BC. Wondering how far that is true?

I'm riding down to Prince Rupert from Hyder Ak, so I'm riding along the Skeena River which is an awesome ride. I'm not sure about the roads below Prince Rupert.

Bring your own tie downs. Even if they have some they will be rusted and oversized.

If you are doing Icefields Parkway on the way up you will be severely disappointed and frustrated with Glacier National Park, Logan Pass and the Going to the Sun Road. I know I was!!!! Was ok to visit, but after Icefields Parkway it was like going to a small carnival after a month at Disney!!!

Yep that's what I heard. My buddy Ian and I are headed up and down the Icefields tomorrow. Got a room at a nice lodge for tomorrow night about 60 kms south of jasper.

4 of us are heading to Deadhorse here in July. I'll be pulling out of Charlotte, NC around the 29th or 30th of June headed for Saint Louis, MO to meet up with my high school buddies from Ohio. 2 GSA's, 1 R1200R and a hopped up KLR 705. Hopefully we'll meet some of y'all on the road!

Leaving tomorrow for Idaho. Trailering to cut off 3500 miles back and forth across the plains!
Heading north for the border on June 4th. Hope to meet up with fellow riders along the way to Prudhoe Bay, Eagle, Dawson City, etc...
