NOoooooooooooo way !!!! Anything short of 20,000 miles oil change interval.... cost more than 7k... (from Honda) is ridiculous and unacceptable. I predict Honda will sell a shit lot of this.
Real riders change there own oil,do mantance, 20 bucks for oil and 10 min. Every 2 weeks for me,all dirt,,,32 mpha Man, get over it,,, than with all the money u save on not buying parts for your ktn you can buy a Corbin for 450L, since you ride ir more,, Joe Dirt,,,
I guess if you don't go on the press ride and just borrow a bike from a dealer there's no embargo? https://www.webbikeworld.com/2019-honda-crf450l-test-ride-review/ Saw those pics on instagram earlier in the week.
Rephrase that to " let me explain myself", then it will be more like we're talking to each other vs you trying to talk down to me. No real reply from me on the rest of what you wrote, because the above is where I stopped reading. Ride safe.
The one at that Honda dealer I saw was a leftover from last year and priced to move. If this state were easier to plate in, that thing would be tempting just for the price.
Must say he doesn't really sound like he know what he's talking about when it comes to power: So since the DRZ400 has about 30-32 from the factory I'm guessing his "45 Honda HP" might be 35?
I'm glad I'm from Colo, so I can lube my chain, check oil and air cleaner, relax and have a pbr,lol RideRed And ride 450x, tomorrow, Grandkids riding 450L next century when I'm done with it,,
The 600 miles interval though... I don't want to change the oil half way through a weekend trip... What's the OCI on the equivalent orange bike?
CRF450L should have mid 40s - similar to the 2014 WRF and the current KLX450 - and the old CRF450X But when are we going to see the US ride reviews?
Why would you? Those of us who actually ride plated enduros know this for the Internet meme/excuse that it is. You change the oil when you need to and can. I routinely go 1,000 miles on an oil change when riding my 525 for a weekend long dual sport ride instead of flogging it like a race bike. In short, you simply use common sense instead of this mindless slavery to the owners manual folks on the Internet seem to think is a requirement to ride plated enduros. I have never tracked hours or miles. I change the oil when I need to and/or convenient. Sometimes that is one weekend, sometimes it is several months.
Will not be me, I already have the only single cylinder Honda product in my garage that you could make a reasonable argument that it is better than their competitors, actually lives up to the Honda reliability legend, that local dealers actually stock, have product knowledge about and may even stock parts for:
I'm mystified that the TKC reached such cult like status. It's expensive, wears out quickly and doesn't hook up even when new. I think people just don't like to admit that they overpaid for a crap tire.
Honestly, who the hell puts in 600 miles on a weekend on a plated dirt bike? I've done some long Dual Sport events, like the Shenandoah 500 (about 300 miles), and it's more dirt in a weekend than I ever want to ride. I mean I was dead freaking tired at the end. If you really want to ride, 600 to 1000 miles in one go, this is probably not the bike for that. Start with a WR250R and go from there. Lightweight, single-track capable bikes with nice power-to-weight ratios are going to require more maintenance by definition. Frankly, 600 mile oil intervals are really good!! Compare that with the recommended 15 hours for most KTMs, which translates to about 300-400 miles of dirt riding and you're almost doubling the interval time.
