I visited the annual Brussels car/motorcycleshow last Saturday (17th of January 2015) and after checking out the new KTM 1290 Adventure, I asked one of the KTM-people there if it was possible to install the cruise control of the 1290 on the 1190 Adv.

The KTM-guy didn’t know, so he went asking his superior, a nice KTM-lady. She said she couldn’t give me an answer right away, but she would get in touch with her Mattighofen-colleagues on Monday (19th January 2015).

I gave her my phonenumber and yes she called me back yesterday!

She said that if the demand for a cruise control on the 1190 adventure was big enough, KTM will consider to put a cruise control in their Powerparts-catalogue. They will have a meeting about the powerparts in april 2015.

That’s what she told me so this could be interesting for a lot of KTM 1190 ADV riders !
    :clap

I think it would be a great idea to join forces and let the “Orange People” in Austria know we want that cruise control on our bikes!

yup would be a good addition..but doubt KTM will do it. One of the big draws of the 1290 is CC and it would loose some of its luxury exclusivity.

Even the new triumph tiger 800 (xrx and xcx) can have CC nowadays, so I can't
think of a reason why KTM can do the same?

CC was one of the reasons I went with the SA... but not the only reason.

I was looking at the fische yesterday... likely a plug and play similar to the grips. That and a lobotomy for the computer. :ear

certainly would be interested as long as it wasn't a ridiculously expensive powerpart.

if it can be fitted as standard on the little Triumphs , then surely KTM can add it for a very reasonable cost , a new plastic right hand switchgear and a few extra pieces of code in the program.

go for it KTM it will make the 1190 even more appealing to those who would consider the triumph , and it would be a great addidtion to an amazing bike (minus the teething problems of the (airbox , and starter / battery)

its a great machine apart from that :evil

the OP should make this a vote thread and admin should pin it so it dont get lost , then KTM could find it easy enough and see how many would like the feature.

I would really like CC on my ADV also, but DIY like the grips, and maybe a dealer visit for the flash to ecu upgrade. Would require a switchgear replacement also most likely.

I never really used the CC on my previous Explorer, but that doesn't mean I don't agree that it should be available. It would be a nice option for KTM to offer 1190 owners.
