How big is the "big bike"? None of it was goat path, all of it was no problem on a fully loaded 690, some of it I would not want to take a V-Strom on. Easily do able on a 800GS

    ok .
Big bike for me is a klr 650. I wouldnt want to do miles of root infested trails on a loaded bike... done that a few times and try to avoid it when in large quantities. Is there a link to your ride report? would like to have a read if available .

Bill, Dave will be on his KLR650 and he loads it up. Either of your bikes would be fine for this trip. Dave will have good, interesting routes picked out and you can just relax and enjoy the countryside. Sorry I can't join him this year. Enjoy !!

I decided to plan the ride for Sunday Sept. 27 to Friday Oct. 2 which would leave me Oct.3,4 to get home if I'm having too much fun.
also leaves the next week open for a rain date.
    tentative schedule-
Sunday Sept. 27 leave Maine and get as close to Cape Breton as possible
Monday- Ride Cabot trail / Cape Clear and head for eastern side of Cape Breton
Tues- backroads down thru NS to ride south end
Wed /Thurs- Kemptville / New France
Friday- ferry to St John or ride up Annapolis valley and over by Advocate Bay
    and homebound on Sat.

Hey, is the fuel shortage over now? I can't find anything on the CBC Nova Scotia site about this. We leave tomorrow for two weeks in the Magic Bus (c-class camper)., towing the DRs. Heading for the Parrsboro/Pugwash area and then to south of Halifax.

Can't wait to get down there. The Glooscap trail calls me, I love that road.
