Social distancing Turnagain Pass. Heading to Seward.
Wondered if that was you Tim! It was a beautiful day.
Nice to see that you got the R69s back up and running!
It only took me 16 years..... Since it was parked a surprising amount of previously unobtainable replacement parts have become available. It has made it both easier to get roadworthy and provided new avenues for spending money.
Finally got out on the new SL450 for a shake down cruise. Nothing fell off.
Hardly anyone on the back roads.
Wheelies with Denali
Now that, is a bithchin' photo!!!
Thanks! @Fast Idle ‘s Honda is very photogenic as well!
Piston, your pics are the best! Nice to be on 2 wheels.
The photo credit goes to A C Gibbs. He’s my main riding partner. His iPhone 11 takes nice pictures. AC is 30 years younger than me, I got him back into riding by letting him flog my KDX the last couple of summers. He just bought it off of me last week! His very own dirt bike!
ps: Gibbs is the rider in my ice thread post. The KDX spent a lot of Saturday on its rear wheel!
First ride of the season for Cee and I today with a few fellow riders. A nice day to be out of lockup.
Left to right: Olle, Steve, Ralph, Brett, and Cee on the Steese Highway.
Cee waiting for everyone to saddle up
Up the north side of Cleary Summit
get out there
Good to see you guys are out Dave. We did Talkeetna yesterday. Distanced of course.
Probably one of my latest first rides of the season just last Tues but sure enjoyed the warmth! I didn't even wear any electrics. Nice going down the Arm on a weekday evening w /o much traffic. The dirt section around Indian sure can lead to some long lines tho. Stay healthy and have fun, Mark H.
Couple pics from today, feels so good to get a ride in.
Never seen a blue KTM before... and I know its a KTM, 'cause it's got them there Orange Hand-a-Ma Thingies!!! Braaap-braaaap
Made a quick blast up to the tower at Tahneta Pass after lunch. Mostly decent weather, but nothing like yesterday. The road to the comm site was a good test bed for suspension settings, as were the frost heaves on the Glenn in that area.
We added a new bike to the stable. Now Willow has her own GS to chase me around on. As she says: “it feels like a toy” and “doesn’t have the get of of mom’s 1200”. But she loves it. We put about 150 more miles on the bikes on Saturday. It was a beautiful day to ride!
The Denali Highway. Mr. Jones’ birthday ride.
Yes. Work plan underway for investigation of contaminated soil. That's all I have at the moment.
dang Tim.... how did I miss this picture?
I had one of those in the mid/late 80s (not as nice). it had a little gear shift lever on the right hand side in addition to the foot shifter. it came from Venezuela and was a 1950, 51, or 52 depending on which part of the paperwork you looked at. I loaned it to our mutual friend Jerry M. kinda in exchange for the loan of his Laverda Jota. somewhere I have a picture of Elvin Bishop riding it my driveway... long story. one more that slipped away... also a long story
