When I bought my first Bell Magnum helmet from GP cars in Brisbane back in 1975... it wouldn't fit me.

They got in a larger size and said... "If this doesn't fit.. wear the box!"

I recently bought a pair of Aplinestar Toucans.
I normally wear 44/10, my dealer got in two pairs of the Toucans, 10 and a 11.
Well after trying on both pairs, I went with the 11's and wear a thick pair of Bamboo socks.
So far after 10K's, got say they're pretty comfy and I think the fit is good.

I haven't seen it yet. :dunno

Yeah, I think you'll like the toucans. They're definitely good for a wide foot. They're amazing in the rain, too. They really keep your feet dry.

If any chance of getting wet feet, carry a spare pair of socks because bamboo is very slow to dry. On the upside and for the same reason a bamboo T shirt may be very effective soaked and worn under a well ventilated jacket on a real hot day.

Happy to report, I got caught in that severe weather event a couple of Sundays ago, between Klim Latitude Pants and the Toucan boots, I was dry as a bone.

I'll have to wait till the new sized Klim gear arrives (assuming it fits this time) and the next Melbourne downpour (any day really) before testing that theory.

    So, just an update...
A reminder, I take a 34 jeans and pants normally. For years. And Large in a shirt/top/jacket/hoodie/whatever.

The 34 Alpine Stars MX pants were waaaaay small. Skinny little Europeans huh? Second time around, 36 is a perfect fit. Cudos to MXStore in Qld for changing them over no fuss, pronto (albeit I had to pay the $8 postage second time around)

Thanks to prompt and efficient turnaround from AdvMoto in Sydney, I got the smaller sized Klim gear. Free of additional post or cost, excellent work AdvMoto.
Sized 32 pants fit like a glove.
The Medium jacket is perfect in sleeve length, good around the waist, bit tight around the guts/ ribs. That's telling me something there I guess.
So looks like Yanks are oversized.... who would have thought?

Whilst all this is good, I still will always have a preference to walk in, try on, buy and go. Get it right the first time, without the opportunity for second thought or buyers remorse.

I never buy helmets/clothes on line....unless I have tried them on first....there is just too much variation across and between brands.

Size (insert number) means nothing these days, alas...
